Has anybody bought the Seidio Extended Batteries?

i bot the 2400 mAh and it is totally screwing with my treo 680.

it makes all the screens jump around and i can't dial a call because it won't obey the button commands. its really annoying.

also, the new battery last a whole lot longer but when it quits, it gives you NO WARNING. and the phone just shuts off EVEN WHEN THERE IS STILL BATTERY LIFE SHOWING ON THE PHONE!!

    what's with that??

at least with my original sucky treo battery, it gives me plenty of warning time before it actually shuts off.

are there any FIXES for this yet???

    anyone else have this problem??

    thanks!

It seems like the battery meter calibration may be behind the second part of your problems (ie. shutting down without warning etc). I dont have an extended battery, so cant test it, but from what I have read, I think this is the most likely explanation. If you are planning on just using the extended battery, maybe do a battey meter calibration routine with it (if you havent already) and see how it goes. (ie. discharge till it shuts down, then fully charge, without using it and without taking out the battery).

As for the screen jumping around and the button commands being off - that is very strange, particularly if it only happens with your extended battery. I cant think of any logical explanation for that other than you have an independent hardware problem that is somehow being triggered by the different battery, but you should make sure it doesnt also happen with the original battery.

Or the battery itself is the hardware problem.

Me too I have my Treo650 "broken" by a Seidio 2400mAh!

Looks like it has broken the power supply section because after a couple of days the 650 started to reset randomly by itself or even "die" so hard that I have to remove the battery to "wake it up".
Now I'm using the original battery but the phone keeps "dieing" when using the power buttons or putting it on charge or just leaving it alone for a while.
Sometimes I have to remove the battery and leave the phone without for a couple of minutes to let it power up!
And sometimes pressing the battery to the center of the Treo make it reset!
    Ciao,

    I stand corrected.

it looks like there are two different 2400mah batteries. a 3.6volt one for the 650 and a 3.7volt one for the 680. Which one do you have?

If enough have a problem, maybe they'd help. If not, I believe we'd like to know that too, but at least give them a chance to make it right before venting here.
If you did, what was their response?

I guess posting that I don't have a problem with my 680 and the 2400mah battery won't help?

I did go through the calibration technique of doing a charge overnight so that it continues to charge even after it thinks it's at 100%. I then ran it through three solid days till it was completely discharged before I charged it again. A couple times and it's been completely solid for me.

I've even purchased their case for the extended battery that snaps arround the phone. Haven't had to take it off for a reset, so it's pretty good so far!

I have the 2400mAh battery and cover for my arctic 680, and have been experiencing similar problems. Sometimes the power meter will go to 0 for no reason, sometimes whacking it will fix it, sometimes not and it will shut down. I have tried thee meter calibration procedure and it does not fix it.

I have not had a chance to contact Seidio about it yet. I love the performance of the battery, just stinks that sometimes it shutsdown for no reason, causing me to remove the battery and reset it. I have a hunch that a poor connection is causing the problem, perhaps the battery terminals do not apply enough pressure and cause an intermittent voltage drop?

I linked this thread to Seidio's new thread about the colored battery covers for the 2400mAh battery. Maybe they'll respond here...

One can hope. While I may not be having issues, I am looking at an eventual upgrade of my offices Treo 650's due to new requirements comming up from Good Messaging. During trials, users continue to like the responsiveness of the 680, we just need solid phones before I commit to purchases of 70+.

Same goes for SEIDIO, if they can get it solid for all their customers, I'm certain all those phones we purchase would need extra battery life.

Seidio, get this fixed so we can buy your stuff.

    Sarah,

We haven't seen the problems you're having with your battery but would be happy to replace it for you. I would first recommend calling 832-204-1118 and asking for Kelvin. He is one of our technical support specialists. He should be able to help you troubleshoot and make sure you have a defective battery. If you'd like to skip this step then please call the same number and ask for Margaret. She can go ahead and get you an RMA to return the product.

    Thanks

I had the 2400 working flawlessly for about 3 weeks then it started doing the exact same thing as others here. Usually while on a call. I have sent my first battery back and I am aiting for the replacement. I will let you know what I find.

i will be contacting Seidio tomorrow.

had the 2400 battery for my 750 and at first worked great. all of a sudden battery shows 0% and the indicator has an exclamation mark.

a friend bought one at the same time and when switching that one to my phone all appears fine. also appears fine when putting the original battery back in.

I have used the 2400mAh battery (and door) for a almost six weeks now...and have had zero issues. Not minimizing others experiences...and maybe I just got a "good one"...but no problems here.
