I just recently aquired a treo 650 that has no usb cable and no cd that is suppose to come with it. I'm interested to know if the cd is needed to upgrade the phone in anyway and and what is in the cd. Also would like to know if it is possible to download Microsoft Word and Outlook into the Treo 650. Any ideas and/or answers would really be appreciated.

You can get the contents of the CD here

Check the Palm support site to see whether you need to update to version 1.20
and also for information about sync-ing with Outlook.

I believe that "Documents to Go" allows you to access Word documents.

word documents can be edited with documents to go, that comes with the cd.
you can't put outlook on the 650 because its palm operating system.
Oh and welcome to the forums

If you install Docs to Go 7.006 from the Treo 650 CD(or it's content image) -- you will use up to 4mb of your 650's internal memory. . . . this can be cured by the following:

I believe Version 8.0 and above of DTG have the tool under it's drop down menus. . . .

I think you should probably pick up a USB cable

You will want to get a SD card and a backup program like NVBackup(free) or Resco Backup ($). I recommend Resco but since you are shelling out $ for an USB cable and SD then free will save you a few bucks.

Once you get settled in, check out the article called "Essential Treo 650 Freeware" article at http://www.palmloyal.com (look at top of list of the "most popular" stories list on the left column)

This will get you going with some apps that we make using the Treo handy.

yes, version 8 handles it natively BUT every now and again after a DTG session, one need to re-move the applications back to card (at least in my case).
