Last Release for ListPro was in December of 2005 (v4.1). I'm a big user of that software and would love to see an update with some new features. Any one know anything?

I figured it wouldn't hurt to contact Ilium, here's what I got back.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Ilium Software. Funny you should ask...

We are currently updating ListPro, although we don't yet have a release date set (those are set very near the actual release to be sure we are not forced to release it before its ready!).

Keep an eye on http://news.iliumsoft.com/ for release news.

Thanks again for contacting Ilium Software and feel free to contact me if you have any other questions,

Listpro is quite unique. Outliner & listing program with columns. Very rare specimen. I use it everyday to store info, and a lot as an outliner.

Maybe they should develop this outliner function and/or interface.

People like outliners. One of the best apps. for Palm OS & Windows imo.

    Hi Everyone,

I'll elaborate on the reply you got. ListPro 5.0 is not only in development but is currently in closed Beta. The closed beta stage can take a little while but the product really is quite far along.

So yes, we are still supporting the app and improving it. I think you'll be quite pleased with the 5.0 release!

Hi Marc, Glad to hear about you input. You know we start to get a bit worried when we see not update, even minor, for more than one year.

I always believed that Listpro has the potential of becoming a full fledge PIM la Ecco Pro, may be in a premium Edition?

As you said, I am confident that it will be a great upgrade.

Meanwhile, any hint of what V5 would look like ?

Sorry, but I really can't say anything about 5.0 yet. Sorry! We'll definitely keep everyone posted though!

I think Palm could take a few lessons from Ilium Software here. I am not a Listpro user but Marc's response and situation update would make me happy if I were.

(Actually, I might be a customer. I want to get some software for my wife's 650 that allows her to make lists on the fly so she can buy the right stuff at the right store. Funny how you remember "new batteries" when it is dark and you are holding a dead flashlight. You really should remember "new batteries" when you're at the store.)

But my bigger point is that the vendor is part of the conversation with the user base. That's good for both sides. Hello, TC username Palm2401! Let's hear more from you.

Listpro can do that, but a lot more. Actually I store everything (except Calendar information). Being an outliner with columns, you can store for example databases of your books. The ability to store large notes allows me to store pages of information on an item or sub.

I wonder why Ilium software pays so little attention to this aspect of Listpro and focuses on it's listing function.

I actually use it more as a reference tool than a list tool (although i do that to). I have just under 70 lists in my ListPro file, everything from lists of camping supplies to reference notes on some of the technology items I use for work, to tracking projects I've completed and are working on. I've found a lot of ways to use it and I'm eager for some new features. I'd have to give some though about what features would be the best to add but I'd love a refreshing of the interface look (I like things with attractive GUI's, get away from the traditional Palm app look), some additional 5 way support would be nice (especially when using the Center button on the D-pad within a list to open an item instead of just checking it off).
