How about they just integrate it with Dialbyphoto. Maybe add a link in the DBP mainscreen that says "weather" (get rid of "cool stuff" which is a huge waste) and when you click on you get the weather with your current background. This makes more sense to me and would probably sell me on the whole deal.

I see your point about the int'l locations.

I would definitely get this app if it was integrated with DBP! That would be great to have that on the main screen of DBP

Tried it out, and immeaditely liked the beta -- purchased it on the spot. Only feature request I have is to add hourly forecast on the "Currently" screen.

cutoffcirc, great idea. I also asked TJ the same thing...even also to add Treo Memo to DBP or let us choose what app to add to the main screen of DBP.

I use a customized radar from WeatherBug in xWeather that updates frequently. I also use a customized radar from Weather.com that seems to update more than the default in xWeather.

It is actually reasonably simple to add non-US locations, via editing of the XWeather profiles file, using FileZ. It takes about two minutes to do per location.

just post a request to Scott at the Moxsi forum:

    http://www.moxsi.com/forum/

and he will send you the full instructions

    cheers

Thanks...makes so much more sense to have come kind of uniformity and integration. Come on TJ, make it happen! Get that "cool stuff" out of there!!!

a little ot, but as a dbp and now tw user, i would love to see gx-5 come out with a full fledged launcher and tie in both dbp and tw.

Maybe even a Ringtone Manager...I think they can pull it off.

I'm loving it. One thing that I hope gets updated is, every time it does the updates, my phone goes on and stays on after the updates. I have to either turn it off manually or wait until my 2 minutes and it'll go off itself. Also some times when using the phone, all of a sudden the update shows up. Is there a way you guys can get rid of that. Let it do it's thing in the background without interrupting what I'm doing. It goes back to the application I was using, but it would be nicer not to see it's updating.

At times I am unable to update; TreoWeather is unable to make an internet connection.
If I exit and connect to the internet, when I return I am then able to update.

    One other minor detail.
I think it would be better to have the program return back to the 5-day page after an update from the 5-day page rather than always returning to the "Currently" page.

Also, I think the "start" button is unnecessary. Why not let the update begin simply by pressing the update button.

Lastly, I think some 1 button push commands would be good; e.g. "U" updates; "C" gives the current weather view; "5" or "F" gives the 5 day view.

All in all; a very nice program. Beautiful layout.

The latest update to TreoWeather mentions fixing the bug where the update gets cancled if you use the 5-way select to initiate it. I presume that situation happens if the device isn't already connected.

Too many soft resets when using this app. It definitely has potential, but I never had any soft resets on my treo 680 until loading this app. Whenever I hit #*377, it was always treoweather crashing my treo. I will wait and see what kind of improvements they make.

Where did you see release notes?

Anyone else have issues getting an order placed for this? I have a valid MobiHand password and can log into Mobihand and check my other orders. When I attempt to place an order from FireFox, TW is always removed from my shopping cart. When attempted through IE7 mobihand rejects my password. (This is all under Vista). GX-5 really should look into this.

I actually like this application a lot. I am a long-time 4cast user and that will still be my primary weather application. But I did shell out $5 to see where this goes. However, I did the same with TreoMemo and it's not even installed anymore.
I don't get any resets from TreoWeather. No problems at all that I can tell. I emailed them to see if they could implement something like a weather forecast summary when tapping on one of the forecast icons. I use the summaries more than an icon.
