For what it's worth, I use a Transcend 150X 4GB card (it's NOT a SDHC) card. The 680 can read it, but only one of my PC card readers can! I think I bought it from NewEgg.com . You can also buy a variety of cards from Transcend directly. Initially, I thought I had problems with the card, but it turned out to be my fault. The card should work OK.

Fast I can't say. I don't have a class 6 8gb SDHC... but in my case it works GREAT!!!

I would not be able to go with less... g'luck with your decision...
Now it's the WAITING GAME: a GSM Palm Pre
    T680 (COPPER) + Cingular = FUN!!
    My T650 & 6230b and NX70 are retired... =(

I thought 4 GB would be more than enough, and it probably is. But after filling up the available space with music files, I now think I should have sprung for an 8 GB card!

I have been faced with many memory purchace decisions. I have learned it really does not pay to buy the smaller units. Memory is like gasoline and you can never have enough of it. You will eventually use it all up.

I think you should be warned, though. None of them will be fast. Big, yes, Fast, no. I use the 4G, and it's great. I should say it's g.....r...........e...........a........t................................

So,....would a 2 gig card be a better choice for speed?.....

in that case, SD or SDHC ?

I suspect the bigger they are the slower they may be, but I don't believe it's arithmetical, and th 2G that I had was not dramatically faster than the 4G, just faster. You can always put stuff in the internal memory to avoid use of the card except for particular apps.

If I may ask, why is speed important?
My bro used a 4gb non sdhc card 150x and has been very happy with the purchase...

Well, your brother's 4gb 150x card is going to be lightning fast compared to my 8gb Class 4 card. The speed is important for transferring data and pulling apps that are stored on the card through programs like PowerRun and ZLauncher. You'll notice the speed difference when transferring music, doing backups and apps moving from the card to internal RAM.

I've actually switched to doing backups with BackupMan to a separate, smaller card because the process took sooooo long on the 8gb card, I got bored waiting for it to finish.

As Christinac said... I put a lot of the bigger...database driven apps on my SD Card... (using Zlauncher)....so speed is somewhat of an issue... I also do backups to my card as well.

I am leaning to a 4gb SD (NON SDHC) card as well 130-150x .

Am I write to "think" that would be faster than a "Class 4" 4gb SDHC ?

Unless you have a deep need to wake up to watch your 680 backup, wouldn't it be simpler to schedule backups in the middle of the night? I have mind backup between 3 and 4 am which solves the boredom problem. Or, at least that boredome problem.

Well, you're not "write" to think that, but you are "right" to...

Can you believe after over two years of using BackupMan, I still haven't tried the "scheduled backup" fuction?? I guess I probably should...
