Like the ringer off switch but why is there no icon on the screen that tells you the ringer is off? I guess the switch itself acts as a screen icon? I always have the switch off and forget it is off a on screen icon would be good.

TAKEphONE 7.00, in its latest versions (now in version 55), has this screen icon, along with a whole lot of other great functionality.

I don't think any Treo ever had an icon for ringer off. There is an icon for screen off, but if you want ringer off, you've got to get something like Soundoff (I think it's freeware) or something similar.

Both TakePhone and KeyGuardTime+ display an icon to indicate that my ringer is off, but my current favorite app for that purpose is Hobbyist Software's Show Off: it displays a different Treo theme to indicate that the ringer is off. While my normal theme is "Sky", my "Ringer is off" theme is "Carnival": that's impossible to miss.

Wish I had known about this switch earlier. I'm a Treo newbie and all day long yesterday I couldn't figure out why the ringer wasn't ringing. Finally, while on hold waiting for tech support, I saw the switch. I'm a dummy!

It's unfortunately not printed anymore, but there's a Fine manual included on the CD in the box that explains this and a lot of other obvious features....

I think the same manual is online. It hardly matters, though, because I've had Treos for years and I still find myself walking around all day wondering why everybody stopped calling me, not realizing I'd muted the phone the night before.
