Just curious.. .no one has mentioned eWallet from illium? I find that if (like in my case of being a developer) you carry around mulitple devices such as a Palm, Pocket PC, and a Windows Smartphone, it is the best solution for keeping all three (plus desktop) in sync. Although I liked SplashID at one point, it was very difficult to keep both multiple devices in sync. It required a separate desktop app for each type of device, meaning that if you added a new entry on the Palm, you would have to remember to do a full import of the Palm desktop db into the Pocket PC and Smartphone desktop apps also. (That "import" and not "sync") I think that if you have any inkling that you may move to another platform (away from Palm OS) you may want to look into eWallet.

Roboform says the Palm version has "Known issues" for the 650 and 700p (they dont mention the 680 at all). Having played around with it, there is one important issue I have identified: when hotsyncing, you can't get the Handheld RF data to override that of the desktop version (but the reverse direction works fine). So you cant use Hotsyncing between two computers as the way to keep the desktops' data synced. This can be done easily in other ways of course (e.g Windows BeyondCompare).

Thanks Wellssjs for your feedback! I wasnt hoping RF could fill in my Blazer forms, but I think most people would find the inability to edit entries on the Palm a pretty fundamental deficiency.

    cheers

Oops already installed! But got deleted very quickly. The desktop just crashes so no point.
I guess the exe file being small does show that it isnt much of anything.

Marc, you've just had to kick me out of bed to start up my PC. I was doing my last min browsing b4 hitting the sack.
Thanks for doing some pointers there i appreiciate it very much.
Now that shows the good point about ilium developers is that one can depend on thier service. They mean it and they want it, and thats confidence. I'll give it a another try now that i can import.
Now just why wasnt import in your menu bar!

After trying out quite a few password managers, i've come to a point to say that what i really want is a manager that is not rigid in its fields preferably expandable be more fluid in the sense of being free form ie you can chuck in any text data without worrying about fixed field. Somathing like in notes or memo whatever. Alarms would be great too. Just hope i'm making sense describing this!!

    Happy to be of service!

Typically people use Import once, when they first start using the program. They really never use import again. Taking up space in the program (in multiple ways from menu items to memory) didn't seem to make sense. Also, having it separate lets us provide new formats without having to re-release the software.

Good news about eWallet then. Not only does eWallet allow you to enter any sort of text into any sort of field, we also have a "note card" which is a nice big text space perfect for chucking text into. Also, you can rename any field label on any card and even save the final product as a template if you use that format a lot.

No alarms yet but it's definitely a popular request! We'll definitely add your vote!

    A Q for Mark Tassin.

In security setting i ticked Lock after x min and lock on Power off.

Why is it when i change apps and then return to launch ewallet again but its locked?

One feature i really like that others cant do is dialup the phone number from ewallet

Since Adarian was mentioned I'll assume you are using a Treo 650 or 680. That said, the Palm operating system doesn't leave programs running in the background if you switch applications. As a result, each time you leave eWallet it closes the program thus locking the wallet. The close after/on power off features make sure your wallet gets closed and locked if you happen to stop using the device for awhile but never leave the eWallet program.
