Here are other options. Each has their own set of difficulties. I use a combination of Xiino and Opera. Universe3 (i think that is what it is called) is a new browser out that has a lot of potential but needs a lot of work.

    Xiino
    Opera
    Universe3

Opera is useless...Havent used xiino since you have to pay for it.. Universe3 seems to be promising, I like the tab browsing. But until the next update it runs slower than blazer.

Opera works really good if you set your java settings correctly.

    Hey, Peter, thanks.

Would you provide a small tutorial on how to optimize java settings for Opera?

If you can, tell us, is the Java you speak of the Java Virtual Machine that GoogleMail want us to have and if so how do we install/optimize it so we can use both Opera and Google's mail app?

    Be well, all.

I used opera and I didn't see anything special about it. I'd much rather use blazer.

Opera's the best browser for the platform IMO. For best results, I wouldn't touch the screen. Use the DPad for navigating links and center button to click. And never click something twice, just wait a second and you'll see progress.

Opera is very good for a lot of sites and is fast and stable. Not best for every site, but really good for a lot.

That is what I was going to say as well. I have NO CLUE what the people are thinking when they say they do not notice a difference? It is 10x faster! The ONLY downfall that I have found is that you cannot use the ( _ ) underscore.

My 700p runs better with 4Mb max memory and 8Kb stack size.

    Oh yeah,

I've noticed disabling visual effects in Opera helps with stability too. I also have content folding disabled.

Are we talking about opera being faster and the best on only the 700p (since we're in the 700p thread), or the 650/680 as well?

I agree opera is very good. you really need to read the manual to take advantage of its features. full screen is sweet. and the RSS is good also. it has plenty of shortcuts you just need to learn them. and it does have five way! its just the opposite of blazer.
If I could know then, what I know now.

Utilize ShortCut5 and you can access the underscore or anything else you need.

Opera seems to crash on me a lot.... Any suggestions? I have yet to have blazer to crash on me.. But sometimes opera will crash just going to google.com

I have tired to reinstall a fresh copy and have done resets.

i used blazer since I got my 700P and always thought it was OK. It worked enough for me, but most of the time I couldn't load pages. Too big to render.

I have been using Opera 3.1 now for a couple days and it is 200 times better. I can actually load full sites and even post on forums. (like i am right now)

Opera is the browser that should have come with the 700P.

Did you scroll up and try the settings? Check post 7, and post 11 for someone else's preferred settings. Frankly, as long as you increase the memory to anything beyond the default Palm OS settings, it will be better.

And within Opera, go to the preferences and disable animations.
