I did a clean install of Vista home premium, and can't get Palm Desktop to install at all. I get started on the setup screens and then it stops, and gives me an error 1431 I think (I'm not in front of the machine now).

Anyone had this and know how to get past it???

    THanks,

    Chris

I purchased an Acer laptop with Home Premium installed and downloaded the Palm Desktop from Palm. No problems. I used the download from Palm because I wanted the latest release. Ben

I just purchased a HP laptop with Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine. When I install the version Palm recommends I get error attempting to install the USB driver for the hot sync cable. I assume that there is no 64 bit driver and the 32 bit driver will not work. In fact every time I restart Vista it attempts to install it again. I looking to replace my Palm Treo with something that will work soon.

hmm, well I am using the 32 bit version so I'm thinking it should work. I'll try to download from palm and give it another go. I'll report back....
