I live in Arizona and they don't adjust the clocks for Daylight Savings time. It appears that I don't need to do the update. Does anyone know if that is correct since we don't change our clocks? What than would happen if I were traveling to say NY where it would than be 3 hours later after 3/11 vs 2 now?
Would my appointments adjust anyway even without the update since the cellular service would adjust my cellphone time and date automatically?
    Thanks

I would assume that this doesn't apply to Treo devices, since they get their time from the network, right?

From what I understand from the Palm site, it does in fact apply to Treos (thus the patch for Treo devices).

Upon calling Palm One, I was advised that the display/network time and the device's internal clock are two different animals and that the internal time (device time) is what drives the calendar et cetera (Palm Desktop and Outlook).

I could be wrong, but in order to verify this information independently of what I am writing, you should contact technical service at your respective cellular carrier or Palm One directly.

Programs like world clocks, Agendus, DateBk, etc. rely on a Palm OS table that contains cities and time changes. If you don't travel or care about world times, then what to worry? But if you do, you'd be advised to update the tables via Palm's patch.

I installed the DST update and immediately noticed that emails coming in on Chatter had a time stamp that was 5 hours ahead.

I did a backup before I did the update so I tried to hard reset/ restore-- but it still has this annoying problem.

What can I do to fix this?

I just heard from someone having the same problem with Snapper....hmmm

What setting are you using in the Treo's Preferences/Date&Time, as far as the network time goes?

I'm using Snapper and no issues after the DST update.
FYI My Treo Pref Dates/Time settings are:
Get date & time from mobile network
Get time zone from mobile network.

    Good Luck

same settings: get time from network-- get time zone from network.
I played with different possible solutions all day.
    I deleted chatter and reinstalled.
I hard reset and restored to a backup set I had saved from early january 2007. nothing has worked. I am at my wits end.

Wow, after reading this thread, I'm not going to take a chance at pulling out my hair! I'll just sit back and wait to see what happens without the update.

The email I got from Sprint said to download and update before the 11th although I believe it won't matter if one installs it afterwards:

"Did you know that Daylight Saving Time (DST) will be extended this year? March 11, 2007 is the magic start date—three weeks earlier than last year. DST will also last one week longer in the fall as well, changing back to standard time on November 11, 2007. To help your calendar events and email reflect these new DST changes, we've put together an update for all Palm devices. Remember, your device will NOT update automatically, so please download this update from Palm.com before March 11."
