Try sending a log/bug report with Chatter. I suspect you will get a reply.

    I have version 3.0.4+.

I just sent myself an email and it has the correct time. I installed the DST update the day it was released.

I am trying the tedious and painful step of trying to restore each file one by one.
It would be helpful if anyone could help me with the names of the possible culprits.

I will try sending a log to Mark...I figure why not. The worst that can happen is it can go ignored.

Am I really the only one having this issue? Man! I feel alone out here.

Today, I revceived an email from Palm today (as a registered Palm device owner) asking me to visit their link to update for DST. Nothing like waiting to the last minute.

I never receive anything from Sprint.

I took care of this last week.

So, is anyone else seeing the same issue with Chatter was Wachie? I've held off on applying the update, based on his experience here. Wachie, I might also suggest leaving a message on the Chatter forums over at www.chatteremail.com.

I played with different possible solutions all day.
    I deleted chatter and reinstalled.
I hard reset and restored to a backup set I had saved from early january 2007. nothing has worked. I am at my wits end.
Are you using a 680? Is it unlocked or Cingular?

My friend and I both have unlocked 680s on T-Mobile, both use SnapperMail and both are on EST. She sees the 5 + hour change on received emails and I don't.

She installed the update yesterday and I installed it a couple of weeks ago. Thinking that perhaps the updater might have changed for the worse since I installed it, I downloaded a fresh copy and updated with it. There's no difference for me...my emails still show the right time.

Does anyone think this might be an email server problem? wachie: you said, "I hard reset and restored to a backup set I had saved from early january 2007. nothing has worked"...does that mean that after a hard reset and restoring from a backup WITHOUT reinstalling the update, the time was still off? If so, then I don't think the updater is the culprit.

I was able to get some help by making a log and sending in a bug report.
After about 7 emails back and forth I was asked to try going into the prefrences panel in the chatter program and selecting mailbox view and unchecking to 'use date/time' box.

This solution solved my problem. YAY!
But I am still confused as to what exactly happened and what consequence unchecking that box will do in the long run...
however, I am very happy that I don't have this issue anymore.

Well my phone displays the correct time, it switched to 3am at 2am. I didnt install any upgrade from Palm or anything, although I recieved an email from Verizon telling me to do so...

I tried to download the update from the Palm website but it kept telling me I needed to install 2 other Microsoft updates to my pc prior to the Palm update for my device, I got confused, frustrated and gave up.

    any help?

I know I'm crossing forums, but my update didn't work. I have had to manually set my clock from 1:50am CST to 2:50am. That's not difficult, but my World Clock won't change to show DST. What's up with that? When I did my DST update everything looked like it "took" fine.

    What do I do now? I'm a noob...please help.

the change does not occur until 2AM so at 1:50 nothing should have changed. better off sleeping than staying up to watch ur treo's time change.

my dst update worked fine on the east coast
    _____________
Visor -> Treo 650 Cingular UNLocked (Cing. Blue Phone on Orange Network) -> vzw 700p -> VZW Centro (much better)

Actually, I just had gotten up...because I woke up and thought about it. But...suprise! It seems to have worked perfectly!!

These software companies are a joke.
I applied the patch to microsoft windows and ran the outlook updates, I also put in the palm patch on my phone.

Anything from say March 10 - April 1 is all messed up.

For example on my treo700p I have a flight next friday at 6:45 in the morining.
Well the text of the flight details obviously has the correct time but the time out to the side of the scheduled event has 5:45.

What did the patch do Fall Back instead of Spring Forward

All my holiday entries that actually come from outlook between the dates listed above are not longer just events that have no time assigned to them the say 11:55 one night and then go into the next day.

What a mess for something as simple as DST

Sprint 700p End User is stating his calender events are 2 hours behind. His actual Calender appointments are fine. He syncs with an Exchange server wirelessly. If he enters a new appointment the time is correct, but events he entered before DST are 2 hours off. If anyone else has any events issues please post.

But my device DID update automatically!!!!

I dont get it. It should seem so simple, but my phone clock (time), calendar events, and e-mails etc. were all fine WITHOUT the patch!!!

Could it be that the problem starts when the OLD Daylight Savings Time goes into effect thus confusing the Treo???

    Confused in California!!!

wachie: first you need to chill. you make it sound like you been troubleshooting this for weeks. Computers do what we tell them to still. its normally user error. What type of server is your mail coming from?
If I could know then, what I know now.

rjmoose, That line was part of a letter I received from Palm and quoted in my post earlier in the thread. I *believe* I read in another post that if you don't run the update you may get your system time to read correctly, but some apps may have problems. I admit to being a bit confused about this too.

I believe that if you put that preference back to its previous setting, things will be OK now. The Snappermail user who experienced your original problem reports that things are back to normal after DST went into effect.
