I followed the instructions, but when I access the SIM book, no contacts show up, and then when I go to Phone app and select Import From SIM, it says the phone needs to be on for 30 seconds. But the phone's been turned on for a while.

I did get a message when the unit turned on. It said I couldn't use this SIM card with the device.

What am I doing wrong? Please help!!

Just copy all the contacts from the sim to the phone in your OLD phone. Then swap sim cards and copy back to the new sim in the OLD phone.

Your phone is obviously locked and if it's not connected to the cell network, as the message indicated, then it's NOT considered turned on.

You can also export numbers from your Contacts to your new SIM...

When I put in m Cingular SIM into my locked TMO phone, it asks for my subsidy password. It won't let me get into the phone otherwise.

You can't do anything with your TMO phone and a Cingular SIM card. Your best bet is to sync with Palm Desktop to get all your contacts on the computer, then sync a Cingular Treo with the same Palm Desktop. That puts the contacts onto the Treo, and from there you just save them to the SIM card.

I don't have synching software that can be used with my RAZR from TMO and my computer.

How long have you been with tmobile? Why don't you call them and ask to get the code to remove the lock. Then you can do exchange using the razr. I assume since you have a new cingular treo that you've been with t-mo long enough to break the contract.

Don't forget to tell T-mo that your travelling abroad and want to use the razr with a local chip somewhere.

Manually entering each contact into Palm Desktop then synching.

My computer does not have bluetooth. I know I know, I can buy a device that makes my computer bluetooth enabled.
