Can you help me? I am looking for a case that would meet the daily demands of student life; possible bumps with other kids(d'oh), pushed against a backpack(eeek), maybe a shock or slight drop (hopefully not.) I would also like the ability to "thumb" the screen. Finally, the least loss of form factor is best. What do you guys think, can you recommend me a case? Trying it in a store is a bonus.......

    Thanks a lot,

Get an aluminum hardcase, try seidoonline.com or proporta, they both make solid cases.

I used to bang my pda a lot in college.

I swear by Krusell cases. They are always of great quality and fit perfectly with the device that it's made for.

You won't regret getting one. I recommend going on eBay - you will find them the cheapest there.

if you take somewhat good care of your devices, I recommend the seidio slim rubberized case for the 680 for slimmest form factor. non-noticable gain in bulk, and it has a good feel in the hands. screen is open for use, and there's cutouts for everything you need to reach to minimize removal from the case.

I use this metal case, which also has a solid, clear, screen protector. However, you need to flip the front open to use the touch controls. Everything else is available, and since most apps support 5-way, I rarely have to flip it open at all:

Can you put in a Screen Protector? Or is it always open?

It would appear that for the 680, there is only a "flip up" case?

Yeah, I'm thinking aluminum over silicon. Thanks for the info.

This was the one that I was looking at. I assume by "touch controls" you mean the screen? How much does it add to the bulk? Could I put it in an "average pant upper pocket," or is it cargo pocket only? Finally, if I had to flip it open, could I hold the case open with the 680 in it, in one hand, and “thumb it?”

I'm coming from a TX, and I think that I'm having trouble "losing the touch screen while it is in the case" idea.

Thanks everyone for the info and your help,

Pick up Filez while you are there: (Freeware File Manager for the PalmOS)

Due Yesterday, is that like 4.0 Student? I've learned my lesson, always check to see if there is a similar freeware app before you buy.

    Thanks,

There's more selection for the 680. I just showed you my preferred style of case.

Go here to look at other styles:
