    Hi Members,

I recently bought a 700P from Alltel that came with a bunch of favorites preinstalled.....camera, office sync, pTunes, Get Apps and a few others that take up the most convenient spots on the favorites. I went to change these and they do not allow you……typically….you change the type and can over right the button……or move them to a different location……however…..when I drag them……I get an error that says “cannot move this favorite. I noticed that my friends 700P and wife’s 650P do not have this problem…..so I’m assuming it is some soft wear issue that Alltel added.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there a way to get rid of these favorites.

    Thanks,

    Stretch88

So this delete method of pre-installed favorites buttons does not work on the Alltel 700P?

To delete a pre-installed Favorite, install FileZ, select the PhoneFavorites file (PhoneFavorites2DB) and choose Item/Edit from the menu. Delete whichever records you're concerned with - I believe Contacts is record 0 and Voicemail is record 1 - select View first to be sure.

Cool. This works on the built-in blazer favorites as well.

    Hi Stretch!!

    What Bill Said:

    More Detail:
    Within FileZ
    select Internal
scroll to the item you want
select the item you want(PhoneFavorites2DB) by tapping the asterick in front of the file name with your stylus -- you should get a red check mark
    hit the menu button
should get a drop down menu
    select edit
should now be at the Record List screen with the 0 line highlighted
if you select view you will see alot of characters -- but you will also see the title of this favorites button in the jumble
    close
if this this is a favorite button you want to change -- hit delete
then you should be able to go back into the regular favorites set up window and recreate what you want that button to be. . . .

    Cheers, Perry

Yes, the menu button on the phone . . . . bottom right of keyboard.

Or you can tap "FileZ" on the upper left of your screen with your stylus

Hey I was wondering if someone can help me? Yesterday I upgraded from a Treo 650 to the Treo 755p. I copied over my PhoneFavorites2DB.pdb from the 650 to the 755. This did not work, it counldn't find some of the items I assigned. So I used FileZ to delete the PhoneFavorites2DB.pdb. A default PhoneFavorites2DB.pdb was created. So now I made all new ones. When clicking on the buttons it works but if I press the letter I assigned to an item it does not launch the item or action. I don't get this. I dont think anyone can answer this problem I having.

Nevermind I figured out my own problem. Im so stupid. I always thought you could launch those favorites from anywhere. I did not know "Butler" was allowing me to do that. It does work fine. I dont' have Butler on my new phone.
