    Hi,

I want to cut versa ,real and quicktour from my treo's rom. Romtool need a sync cable with sync button that I've not had.

I have to go with SD method but can't find any rom file.

    How?

    Thank you for your help.

You can use the RomTool to create the acepalmos.zip files & then use the SD cvt2 method to replace the rom.

But Romtool need hotsync button !!!!

They said that I have to press hotsync button and reset at the same time to download Rom from my Treo.

    Just a button...

You only need a hotsync button to update the phone directly from the romtool. You can use the romtool to create a stripped rom file that you can then use the SD method to upload to you treo. Look for the Tips & tricks thread there are lists of the files needed and how to do this.

You will also need to download the LAP updater from Palm and use the T3.jar to create the initial files. You will find this info in the thread too.

For safety and simplicity I highly recommend you get a cable with the button on it.

This allows you to recover from an unresponsive ROM, while the SD card method can cause you end up with a brick for a phone - though the ROM Tool would probably allow you to recover from even that so long as the "Bootloader" screen comes up.

    Do I miss some thread???

I read many threads about romtool... but I can't find the way to get Rom file without that button.
    How and how???

You can call me ***** or sth.
    Where is that thread?

As stated before buying a $20 cable may save you a couple hundred dollars worth of Treo as well. But it is possible to do.
