    That sucks.

Maybe you're only supposed to do it once...

Yeah, now every time I check my email it either hangs & errors out, or does this "sync palm changes" crap & takes forever. Didn't do that before I pulled the battery!

    Oi. Never again.

Well, judging from this thread it seems that the battery pull definitely has an affect for most people. It either decreases the lag, or increases it. I've done it, and am not sure myself which way to report it - didn't notice the lag go away, but afterward noticed a few more 'glitches' appearing. Oh well...
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.

I should add, I almost never got lags before I pulled the battery.

No noticeable performance changes after a 15 minute battery pull.

Not only am I getting lags now, I'm also starting to get random resets :/

Yaaaaaay I just got stuck in a delightful reset loop. I had to hard reset & do a selective restore. Its running fast NOW though!

    *shakes head & stalks away*

kids, don't try this at home. Leave your batteries alone.

Not true. The whole reason the 650 and later models use NVFS is so that memory won't be lost when the battery goes dead or is removed.

I think you misunderstood- he meant restart all apps as in clear their caches & start them over, not reinstall.

That's the same thing a regular soft reset does (or at least in theory is supposed to do): restore the handheld to it's initial power-on state, much like restarting Windows on your desktop.

True. But taking out the battery lets every last bit of juice drain out. It does have a different effect than just resetting, as I found out the hard way.
