    Like the effect on Nokia phone, not suddenly off, but darker and darker...

    In a word: no.

    I like the Nokia effect too, but it's not possible on a Treo. That requires special hardware; probably some type of variable resistors. (I suppose a program could be coded that would gradually dim the LCD on the Treo but it wouldn't be as graceful as the Nokia's.)

    I found that lower the contrast gradually can make the almost same effect as Nokia( only most like ).
    Then I hava an idea, may some app. remember the normal contrast setting and control it before the device go to sleep, and set the original contrast back at power on ?
