What are people using for soft reset software on their 700p?

    Any issues?

I have a nice rubber skin but its a pain to take of if I want to do a reset...

Ditto. I think Chatter also has a console command that does a reset.

I haven't yet bothered installing anything, (I have been thinking about drilling a hole in the back of the battery cover. I have a crystal case coming next Friday, so I'll probably wait until i get that and drill the hole for both at the same time.)

Plan: 1) Remove the battery cover and mark x and y axes on the treo near the battery cover. 2) Reinstall the battery cover. 3) Transfer the marks to the intesection point. 4) Install the crystal case. Since clear, after creating a starting mark, drill thru the crystal case and just enough to make a starting point to drill the battery cover, but don't go all the way through 6) Remove the case and the battery cover. 7) Drill the rest of the way through the battery cover.

If I'm lucky, the case will aleady have a reset hole and I can just use this as a template to mark where to drill in the battery cover.

I may make the hole in the case slightly larger to allow for misalignment.

I have gotten pretty good at popping the back and pulling out the battery. I think I got it under 2 seconds.

    How's everyone else's time?

Well, fwiw, I've had a 650 for over 2 years. Early on, I installed an app called Crash (auto resets for you). I've only had to open the cover about 10 times. Don't know if it works on 700.

I use EZReset, there are two buttons...RESET and CANCEL, if you change your mind. Probably the simplest application to figure out how to use.

Not simpler than mReset (don't know if it works on 700). You launch, it resets.

Most treos reset on their own multiple times in a day. Why use software when a buggy phone takes care of it for you?

Sorry to be a little cynical on New Years Day. It was a long night.

I just go with popping off the back cover and yanking the battery. "Soft Reset" (mentioned above) and CrashPro for plain old software resets.

If Palm wouldn't mind stealing an idea from the PocketPC and Handera world - it would be really nice if they'd get their act together and put a simple reset hole where we can get to it easily. For a good laugh, try resetting while driving at night using that silly hole they designed. Post the results from your hospital bed!
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.
