Hi. I don't know if this has been addressed, but after searching I have yet to find a good solution. Google Maps is awesome, but it caches a lot of data to the device memory. Is there any way to move this to the memory card?

Move the whole app to the card w/ Zlauncher or PowerRun.
Visor Deluxe->Visor Edge (Upgraded for $100.00 just by giving them the Serial # of my Visor Deluxe plus I got to keep the Deluxe. Those were the days!)-> Palm M-505->M-515->Tungsten T->Zire 72->Treo 650->->Treo 700P->Treo 755P. Plus various replacements. 8130 Pearl....Sorry

But doing this does not move the cache to the card. The cache remains on the device.

You can store the cache on the card along with the application if you use an app like PowerRun, LinkStart, Zlauncher, etc to move it there.

I have launcher x and I moved it to the card but it seems to still cache to the device. Also with it on the card I cannot use quickmaps to link to it. Will powerrun fix that?

I wish I could clear the cache, without clearing the addresses that I've put in.

Plus I wish it could pull addresses from my address book and also add businesses that it finds back to the address book. DIrectory Assistance does this, so it should be feasible.

    Good luck!

Just checked out powerrun and it does the job nicely. If you want to be able to grab addresses out of your contacts and see it in googlemaps, you should try kwikmaps. Sorry I don't have the link, but should be easy enough to find

I know. I still don't know why the REAL google map on the PC browsers doesn't support bookmarks. And that crappy MSN live map supports it.

To allow Kwikmaps and DA to interact with Googlemaps (with Googlemaps being stored on the card), I think you must keep Kwikmaps and DA in RAM.

I start Googlemaps with a shortcut to copy it from card to RAM. As long as I don't launch another shortcut, or ZL, Googlemaps stays in RAM. Then I can launch either Kwikmaps or DA via Quicklaunch and they will interact with Googlemaps.

Anyone having problems with the google map database getting corrupted? This has happened to me twice. After several days of it working fine, I'd go run Google Maps on my 700p and would get an error that the database is corrupted. I have to delete the app (and all assoc. files) and then restore from backup. Then it works fine.

Maybe you should start over instead of doing a restore. It sounds like the corruption is in your back up too.
