I bought a SD 1GB card and have moved as much as I can onto it but my 650 is still running very slow, especially when using versamail. Someone help me as I'm on the verge of throwing this phone out the window.

You'll likely want to say what is slow in order to get much input... VersaMail is slow, especially if you have a lot of mail in it or you're not emptying the Trash. Otherwise, you'll really need to go into some detail.

Don't let the 700P owners hear you whine about this... they'll start a competition about who's Treo is slower.

How's 3-5 min just to pull versamail up and 10 min. or more to sync with exchange server and pull up new emails?

Emptied trash, still extremely slow. What further details do you need to know?

I think he was referring to what things you're trying to do with the device (actions, programs, etc) that are slow. Or are you suggesting that something as simple as clicking on the 5-way or tapping an icon takes a long time to respond? Slow can cover a LOT of territory.

Is it faster immediately after a soft reset? Sounds like dbCache is running out.
How much free RAM do you have?
What apps/hacks do you have running in the background?
May want to install PalmInternals and run the speed test and might be able to see what's slowing things down
    Palm III > HS Visor > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 750 > Treo Pro > PrePlus GSM

How do you clear the dbCache? I'm having slowdown problems also. I've already installed PalmInternals and uninstalled the apps that run in the background that i don't need. The dbCache is the only thing i am unsure about. Help please...

The most basic method for clearing dbCache is a soft reset.

Thanks. You're the man. Not sure how much this helps the original poster though...

There is a freeware called “PalmInternals” which it can tell you how fast and which program is slowing you down. Check it out.
