Anyone use a recommended (preferably free or cheap) software for resizing/shrinking/formatting movies (ideally DVD's) for the Treo?

For a macintosh, I use Handbrake. It works wonderfully with treo.
Size set to 320 x whatever. Bit rate = 400 k per second.

I don't know how big in filesize a shruken dvd formatted for the Treo would take up...But I use this program to convert music videos to be played on the Treo.

    Total Video Converter

I convert files into mp4, low quality. They look & sound great. A 4 minute video takes up roughly 6mb.

I'm sure others know about better programs

Here is a thread that describes how to do it for free

I personally use Pocket DVD Studio for PPC & Palm devices. Its around $30 and does a nice job with little effort.

I use pocket divx encoder. You can get a copy here (its free btw):

Its simple and easy to use. You can do batch encoding and you get about 1 minute == 1 mb. So one episode of SouthPark comes out to about 20MB. I have the whole series on my phone

    I use FairUse Wizard http://fairusewizard.com/.

I tried others to convert DVDs, but ended up with video/audio out of sync. FairUse Wizard gets it right.

I've got this too - surprisingly good quality for the little effort! I usually encode movies as Divx, RMVB you name it but this is one fof the better all-in-ones I've seen - of course the quality is only for Pocket devices but it's good

I also use Pocket DVD Studio and I love it. I can convert movies for both my T3 an 680 with no effort at all. I'm a geek and I love to fiddle with stuff but I tried other ways including FairUse and I got fed up rather quickly. But Pocket DVD Studio always works.
