I just installed the update and it seems to have fixed a few known compatibility issues with the 680, the biggest of which it will now dial successfully. There are also some fixes with 5-way navigation in contacts.

Here is a list of fixes from their website:
    Improvements

    * Treo 680: corrected unexpected "reassignment" of Treo Phone button on new install
    * Treo 680: added support for its built-in phone dialer application
    * Addressed problem with default category assignment on new events when not created in their respective view
    * Corrected failure of Task/Call from Template to observe the default date setting in Task Preferences
    * Corrected redraw issue in Memo edit mode when selecting icons using the DPad
    * Corrected redraw problem in Icon picker when switching between other Icons sets using dpad with certain steps
    * Removed the prompt to assign hard buttons appearing on first launch to minimize side-effect occurring on unknown hardware platforms
    * Corrected failure to properly hide Private Contacts in Attendee selector & Attendee tab when private records set to Hide/Mask
    * Solved duplication of Contact in contact field after copying contact info then pasting in new meeting details
    * Corrected wrong meeting time showing on alarm dialog with certain alarm settings
    * Restored cursor default position to Contact Field per user requests
    * Corrected inproper cropping of Memo title text when icon is assigned & "double quotes" are used around the text
    * Resolved stability issue upon using 'Log' on known contact for SMS or Email from Agendus Mail
    * Resolved stability issue when trying to add attendees to a meeting just created from YourCall
    * Added error message when Auto-Disconnect attempts to disconnect, but other applications are using the network
    * Addressed distored recording issue occurring when saving to memory card
    * Solved inconsistencies in Contact Tap/Hold menu present in some localized versions

STILL, the phone button brings up the standard calendar.

    Perhaps 11.07.

Grrr! I called Palm about the calendar coming up when I pushed the phone button and the Rep said it was from button mapping problems because I just synched when I got the 680 and used the same user name as my 650. She made me create a new user name, I have to go and contact a lot of software companies for new registration codes because of the new user name. Is everyone sure the problem is with Agendus and not because of what the rep said? My problem definitely went away after I created a new name.

Any idea on how to get the agendus contacts to appear on the contacts tab of the phone app?

I couldn't even get Agendus (11.05) to install. The white installation screen would stall at "finishing". I had to do a soft reset and then a hard reset was necessary because my Treo would freeze at the "Access" logo screen that comes up after the Palm logo during reboot. Anyone else experience this?

This can't be done and has never been possible on any of the other Palm Treo's.

It might be considered as a future feature request. My suggestion, as an Iambic Forum's Team Member, is to go over to Iambic's forum and put this in as a feature request.

We have not seen any other reports of this on the 680 although from time to time it does occur.

I'd recommend that you remove any SD card prior to the installation and also turn the Phone off prior to the installation.

If you continue to have issues with 11.06 then let me know and I'll point you in a different direction.

There is a sticky thread in this forum which describes the best way to migrate from your 650 to 680 to avoid issues. I'd recommend at this time - to hard reset your device and then follow those instructions in that sticky thread.

If you do so - you'll be able to retain your current 650 user's name without issue.

And then go get 11.06 and install it clean. Your Agendus data is encoded into the notes field of the contacts etc and all of your data will still be there. You will have to reset your icons and preferences but this is a typical issue when upgrading to a new device.

EDIT: If you didn't follow the sticky instructions - Agendus's OTA Nutshell installer actually detects which device you have and prevents the program from hijacking the phone button. However, if you install it from a backup - then the buttons mapping from the old 650 will incorrectly map the phone button because of the differences in the 650 and 680.

If Palm only had one button configuration - this wouldn't be an issue but because they have multiple possible configs - well with new devices comes new problems for the all software developers. Iambic did not get an advance copy of either hardware or simulator from Palm to address these issues before the device hit the street. This has become all too common from Palm with the Treo's releases.

I have already asked over there.

    Many thanks

Phil, I'm not the programmer but I've never seen any app that has replaced the Contact tab lookup. Iambic has never advocated changing it because of the nature of Agendus since it has it's own contacts tab or icon.

Must have missed your feature request in the Iambic Forum -

I'll double check with the programmers about if it's even possible to replace the contact lookup tab of the default program.

I asked the same question and there is a thread going over here:
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...t=contacts+tab

Bottom line is I ended up assigning the C key in favorites as a shortcut when I am in the phone app.

There is one poster on this thread:

...that claims Goodlink DOES replace the contacts Tab ... so programatically it would seem it can be done. Can anyone else using Goodlink verify this and perhaps take a screen shot?

A friend of mine claims that Goodlink does it, but I have not seen it. That was the main reason I asked how the same could be done for Agendus.

I believe, although I've never used Goodlink, that it replaces the native Palm database so it may be possible during such a process to "replace" the contacts tab.

Agendus prefers not to replace the user database/default Palm database. It is one of it's strong points, IMHO.

This is what differentiates Agendus from Key Suite and Beyond Contacts which replace the native databases and conduits with their own. Thus adding to the the overall overhead on the device because then you have ROM databases idle.
