    hey ishtob,

How is your project coming along? I don’t think it’s feasable to put the antenna inside the casing. My initial test without the film I thought was good but lately i've been getting about 10 RSSI higher than stock which equates to 2 signal bar loss. This is not good in areas where I'm barely getting coverage. At first I thought it was good but after doing more test I find that even the slightest change in position will have a drastic impact on the RSSI reading. I then tried reusing the antenna film and my results were the same. I’ve actually ended ruining the antenna film trying to relocate it numerous times. I still have my zoti antenna but I don’t want to ruin that in the process. If you have any success or input, I’d greatly appreciate it =).

HAs anyone found a rubberized paint like the stuff used on the 750? That would rock...

i am really eager to continue on my project, but im visiting family in asia at the moment. I have a rough idea of what I am going to do, I think it would not affect the reception that much, problem is that it might not fit inside the case.

I will have to wait till i return to california before i can continue my project

can you post a few screenshot on how you have done the antenna? im not sure if it is true, but seeing that there is a piece of metal backing the LCD screen, that might be the reason why the signal chagnes significantly when the antenna is moved to be internal. but that doesn't really explain why have huge changes in reception when you move it slightly

Just wanted to thanks Zoti for providing me another antenna! I was finally able to place the new film inside the top left of the casing where the antenna used to be and so far I've been getting average of only 2 RSSI drop. I will post some pics later when I get my camera back incase anyone is interested on how I placed the antenna. Thanks again Zoti!

You guys are doing some cool mods. I built 2 internal antena 650s and had great sucess. I never got around to doing my 700P, but I will as soon as I get some days off work. (12+ hours a day every day...)

remember this phone? it really did work well.

I used an antenna scavenged from a Nokia 8290 and made it fit. It should probably work better on the 700P since I do not have to worry about the SIM tray. I will try to post pictures of the internals next month.

    Happy new year!!!

Finally got my camera. Going to redo the back casing since I damaged part of the case. Notice the gap or hole on the right hand side of the plug in pic 7. I also changed my keypad light to blue by putting a (believe it or not) blue masking tape under the keyboard. Going to put a blue plastic film when I get a chance but the tape will do for now. I didn't put any under the number pad so it stays white. Again thanks to Zoti for his contribution to my project.

I've been taking apart/hacking my phones since the nokia 6120's and every treo version I've owned starting with the 600's. So I guess this comes naturally. Just glad I got it to work

I Have Just Completed Shaving My Antenna. I Have Been Using An Internal Dipole Antenna For About A Week With Great Reception. If Anyone Is Interested In Seeing How I Did This Let Me Know As I Have Several Pics Of The Process. I Have Been Experimenting With Different Internal Antenna Designs For About A Month With Mixed Results. I Was So Pleased With This New Design I Actually Filled The Factory Antenna Mounting Hole.
