Palm didn't release an extended battery for the 650. Third party batteries have been marketed with extended capacity, such as Seidio's battery.

Does anyone know what's up with Seidio? Normally reliable for Customer service, they have been exceptionally slow to respond. I have sent 4 emails so far asking for information about extended batteries. The sales email alias does not work, and I have not received a response from their tech email team in over a week. This makes me a little nervous with response times likes this when I actually purchase something. I know thay have always been great to work with in the past. Here's to hoping they are all just busy making 2-3 extended batteries for every 680 that has been sold out there so far!!!!

Um... perhaps they need time first to develop the product before they can start shipping it?

I sent them an email about two weeks ago about the extended battery and I received a response in 24 hours, I believe. But I sent it directly to David from this board.

I had sent PM and email, and they must have been very busy. I sent another email today, to which they responded very quickly. I inquired as to when they would have the extended batteries for the 680, and got the following response:

    "Hi Matthew<

Yes, we are working on the extended batteries for Treo 750 and 680. They will be ready in 2-3 weeks from now.

    Sorry for the late reply

    -Seidio"

I had asked if there was any chance it could be any sooner, and they replied:

    "HI Matthew,

We are going to do our best.

You can get our current 2400 mah battery for Treo 650. It will work, but it just does not have the battery door. The tooling for battery door just takes time."

Just wanted to share the information, as I am sure we all want buy these batteries as soon as they are out. I clearly need to be a little more patient, but that is my issue. As always, Seidio is on the job, which is a huge relief for me!!!

Thank you mate for the info. Much appreciated!

Have just called them and they expect them in this week, they are mighty pricey in the UK, Expansys are such a better price than Palm.
ROLL ON THE SEIDO EXTENDED VERSION...........EVEN WITH THE FAT BACK COVER........JUST NEED LONGER POWER

I am a bit discouraged by that. I was hoping to get the extended battery that will still fit in the 680 case. But it appears that they are planning the super-extended battery, using the 650 2400mah unit, and fabricating a new extended cover. I really don't want to go that route unless necessary, so I was hoping their extended battery using the existing form factor would be forthcoming sooner. I sure hope they haven't given up entirely on that battery.
