Mine has to be the call waiting screen. I was on the phone with my girlfriend when my mom called. I switched over to talk, we ended the call and I switched back to my girlfriend. The screen read that my mom was still on hold and that I could swap back to talk to her. I knew she wasn't there but tried it anyway and sure enough she was gone. It never updated the screen.

The bug that drives me nuts is the HARDWARE bug called the button arrangement. I HATE the new layout. Thank the gods for LudusP.

Well, I beleive my favorite bug is the random phone application crash that causes a reset. I really enjoy it when I am talking to a client on the phone and I receive a text message causing the Treo to reset..................

The 15-20 second wait for Blazer to launch (nice asthetically pleasing white screen to stare at) when DbCache drops below Blazer's threshhold. Yep, that's my favorite!

ok, my favorite is a tie between the 'lag' and the blazer bottleneck where it gets to about 200k and stalls, and stalls, and stalls while loading a page...those blasted palm engineers...

This has bugged me since my first Treo. There should be a button to "disconnect" the second call on a conference to free up the second line. If you have 2 calls going, then want to hang up on one party and call another you can't - you need to hang up on everyone and call the first party back and place the second call.

Other "favorite" bugs: certainly the lag time, unremovable ROM garbage including ancient versions of DTG (ok, I know - they're "features"), the "musical chair" method of hardware button placement (If you support Treo 600s, 650's and 700's - try remembering where the "power" button is on each - esp. when inside silicone cases).

The saddest fact is - just about all the troubles that the Treo line has were completely avoidable - it was PALM decisionmaking that gave us:

    -the rambling Power Button
-the "nearly nothing" NVFS internal memory architecture
-the obsolete and/or useless apps etched into ROM
-the ROM apps that fill up the RAM with files that likely increase the lag time (ie: Versamail asc4 files)
-the precarious 2.5mm jack on the BOTTOM of the device which makes it nearly useless as a multimedia display (owing to the torque created by the 2.5-3.5 adapter and location of the jack).

OK - the last one was Handspring's fault, but Palm's had over 3 years to correct it, and has put priorities elsewhere...

...on and on Palm goes making continued "progress" toward oblivion. Treo 680: battery amps REDUCED by a third (!!), etc. I fully expect Palm to one day implement their brilliant innovation from the one phone they designed themselves: the "Tungsten W." When the microphoneless "Treo W" hits the streets, Palm will have finally made the Treo their own...
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.

My favorite bug is the so called power users on this board. People install all kinds of 3rd party software that does not properly deal with the EVDO on this unit. This causes lags and other problems that they complain about constantly like it is Palm or the carrier at fault when really they are the ones at fault.
    Pilot 1000 -> Pilot 5000 ->Palm Pilot Professional -> HP 620LX -> TRG Pro -> Palm V -> Palm Vx -> Palm M505 -> Palm i705 -> Palm Tungsten|T -> Samsung i500 -> Treo 600->Treo 650 -> Treo 600-> Treo 700p ->Centro ->Treo 800w + Redfly C8n -> Palm Pre -> HP Touchpad

    rc46,

    YOU'RE WRONG.
Mine lags and resets even after a hard reset with no 3rd party software on it. If you aren't 100% sure, please don't accuse anyone of anything (that works with life in general, too...).

I'm not trying to be mean. I'm trying to make this a useful, one-stop thread for all of the 700P's problems. It would be useful for Palm to see every issue accumulated in one place.

Hey! I'm a power user & my Treo runs great. I have about 80 apps & hacks installed & I only get maybe one reset every few days. You just gotta give it a little lovin.

I do agree that people need to do a bit of research before they whine about instability though. They're probably the same people who complain that they "somehow" got a bunch viruses after surfing porn sites all day. I have honestly had next to no problems with any of the Treos I've had. I've never had any hardware failures, no ROM corruptions, it's been the best phone/s I've ever had really. I'm sure that "bad" Treos do exist, but I haven't had one.

I love it when people blame 3rd party software for lag and crashes, it as if some people think people with crashes are running a Crashmytreo.prc program. and I think pda's are meant to run 3rd party software, otherwise whats the point of getting a PDA phone, if I didn't plan on running software I would have bought a nokia cellphone .
