I vote for the Verizon SMS Treo 700p Hang bug...

That's my favorite! Nothing like texting my wife, and then having a 6-7 min phone lockup. No phone calls, no text messages, NOTHING!

Especially, since Verizon doesn't seem to acknowledge this issue... Although there is a thread over a Treo Central on it, a thread over a Treonauts, and now a thread over here about it!

Yes, I've called Verizon about it, each time they say "I've never heard about this problem before! Hmmm, let's try a hard-reset? Nope, okay let's swap out your phone? Nope, geez I don't know..."

    I also have a tie:

1a. The inability to lock the screen in Kinoma media player, muchless the ability to run it in the background as we can do with PTunes. (as included--not sure if Kinoma upgrades take care of this for $$)

1b. The delays in changing profiles in the (otherwise excellent) Profilecare app due to the memory issues.

AHAHAHAHAHA, I love it when techs say that, to the best of my recollection all the techs I've ever talked to have used that line, they must teach that line in customer service school

I just love it when I have my BT connected and when I receive a call the phone just resets right when it is about to ring (randomly). Never logs who was calling and most of the time my voicemail won't connect to the caller so I never get a message of who called.
"So long and thanks for all the Treos!"

I do agree that people need to do a bit of research before they whine about instability though. They're probably the same people who complain that they "somehow" got a bunch viruses after surfing porn sites all day. I have honestly had next to no problems with any of the Treos I've had. I've never had any hardware failures, no ROM corruptions, it's been the best phone/s I've ever had really. I'm sure that "bad" Treos do exist, but I haven't had one.
Yeah, I have to agree with KabukiAssassin here. I had more problems with my 650 than I have had with my 700P. Most problems are due to inexperienced users IMHO. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I've been a Palm user since my first Visor Deluxe. I am not the least bit inexperienced, nor are the majority of others who have been supporting Palm through the years, that now deal daily with all of the lags, BT problems, random resets, etc.

Besides, this thread is not for opining on the inexperience of others. If you have a favorite bug, please post it!

Can I have two favorites (Sprint 700P)?

    1. I love how I can't change the auto-off feature for more than 3 minutes. Auto-off while it's sitting in a charging cradle is...well...not very user friendly.

    2. BT w/o bundled voice recognition software. Awesome. I don't think Palm is responsible for this feature, though.

I was on a call, another call came in and the phone reset.

The call screen doesn't update when switching between calls. For example, it says the the second caller is still on hold even though you have ended the call.

The treo pauses for up to a minute when typing text messages.

How is experience related to either of those issues?

I don't have any bugs. Can I buy a bug somewhere?

Well, on second thought, I do have a little peeve about the 700p. The radio shuts itself off for a few seconds after hanging up the call to Sprint *2. I don't call Sprint *2 from the 700p anymore. Problem solved. I use the 650 to call Sprint *2 if I am really desparate....

I am pretty sure that is a Sprint issue instead of a Palm issue. Since it does not happen with any other number.

I haven't experienced either of those two issues. Perhaps you got a lemon. Does the Lemon Law apply to Treos?

    SMEGGIE (and others),

Although your enthusiasm is appreciated, this thread is to post YOUR favorite bug, not to debate those of other people. If you never experience them yourself, consider yourself fortunate, but let's try to keep this thread on topic.

    Thanks!

    Smeggie.....

    You've been warned.

Now, back to topic.....I need a bug, can I buy someones bug please. I only want 1 bug. Preferably, I want to buy a bug from someone who has more than 1 bug. I don't need a lot of bugs, I just need 1 bug.

Then I can post about a bug. If I can't buy a bug, then I will need to go on a bug hunt, I guess.....Is that what it's called, a bug hunt? Where is the best location for conducting a bug hunt? I am inexperienced in bug hunting. What do the bugs in question look like?

PS..I forgot -> ....sorry. It seems my enthusiasm for aquiring bug got me giddy with excitement

one acronym is my fave bug...

    BT.

Plain and simple. Its ridiculous the implementation path they took on this foul up.
ONE can be spelled as NEO.

    SMEGGIE and treotraveler,

There are many who see the value in this thread and would like for it to be useful. Many other threads encourage going off on fun little tangents, but I would really appreciate it if this didn't become one of them. No one here is looking to argue with you, and if you start a thread because something is important to you, many of us will try to contribute positively to your thread(s).

    treotraveler,

I realize that you are new to this forum, but this thread is meant to be a light way for people who are frustrated with the current iteration of firmware to air their grievances. Please be helpful.

I look forward to your future contributions to our forums.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Relax bro. A few errant posts won't ruin your valuable thread. You have my word that I will not post any more off-topic posts in YOUR thread.

    Except this one.

    Chill...

Mine has to be Versamail causing everything to delay between screens. Luckily, after hiding the Versamail program, I installed and continue to use Snappermail and the problem, for the most part, is solved.

Yes this is the best bug ever!!

It's so much fun an trying to answer a call on my $100 bluetooth headset and I dont get a responce! Just put a smile on my face

Every time I turn on my Bluetooth headset, I make a test call (call forwarding off) to see if the audio makes it to the headset, and if not, I perform a soft reset and it works again. We really shouldn't have to jump through these hoops.

Oh really? Well, that explains it, I guess. So you're saying that the nearly unanimous observations on this board and every other board of the lag in the Treo 700p is solely due to "3rd party software" "that does not properly deal with the EVDO," eh?

I guess that 3rd party software is pretty powerful, as it can still cause lag after a hard reset, huh? Who knew the solution was so simple - "third party software did it to me."

Do I smell a shill for Palm Engineering here? The "Power User" and "3rd Party Applications" excuses are well rooted in their PRPRPR $monologue$ $of$ $denial$. Shouldn't you guys get back to work creating a firmware fix for these issues rather than trolling the boards with the same old inaccurate excuses we've heard for years?

3rd party apps can certainly be a cause, but not 100% of the time - otherwise how did previous firmware and other patches fixed these "3rd party caused" issues?

Oh yeah - now it's because they don't "properly deal with the EVDO on this unit." That buys you a little time to figure it out.... but 6 months and counting....?
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.
