Where is the How To thread?

How do I get a number in the Quick Key area of a Speed Dial Favorite? Is it so obvious I am missing it?

??? Do you mean a phone number? If so, click on the lookup button and get it from the contacts, otherwise type it in. If you mean a key to press and hold for the favorite to be used then again just type it in.
    Main Phone: Treo 270/600/650/700w/700p/750v/Motorola Q/iPhone
    Tried but sold: Motorola Q/Nokia E61/700wx/HTC TyTN/Treo 680

I can only get letters even when pressing the "option" key.

I can get the numbers in the Quick Key using the software keyboard but not the hardware keyboard.

That's just the way it is. It's been like that since the Treo 650.

If you mean that the "quick" key for a favorite is a letter and not the number (say for example you press "2" but get an "R"), it doesn't matter. Both the number and the letter are on the same physical key. The quick key only shows the letter, but it's the same key so don't worry about it. If you wanted to use the same key but different favorites depending on whether you used a number or letter, you can't do that.

...but, as kryichek stated, you can force the Favorite button to display the number (instead of the corresponding letter) by using the soft keyboard to enter the quick key label.

However it doesnt look the number will work. I had to put the letter in the Quick Key. For example V instead of 9. Even though I had a 9 in Quick Key I couldnt activate the dialing. With the V in place it works.

Yep, you're right. I'd never tried using the soft keyboard for this before your post.

I realize that having "D" display on the Favorite key instead of "4" is a little annoying, but you'll get used to it.

Funny that the Voice mail is allowed to use the 1 for speed dial
