Got a reset while using -> button to move from one e-mail to another (unread) e-mail in my POP3 mailbox. Both emails were in HTML format.

    MemoryMgr.c, Line 3771, Free Handle

    OMG!! This is repeatable!!

After the reset, both these e-mails (which had been partially downloaded, had a More bitton at bottom right) weere still there, marked unread.

I tapped the top e-mail, scrolled around (but did not tap More), scrolled back to top, and tapped the -> button next to the OK button, and BOOM.. another reset. Same error (Line 3771) as above.

I'm going to re-download the mailbox and see if the problem clears. The mailbox is stored on the SD card.

    OK, there are problems ...

On reloading the POP3 Mailbox (from Mailbox Utilities), I have 6 unread messages, all HTML, all stored on SD card.

Tap to open first msg. Tap -> button .. RESET!!
    MemoryMgr.c Line 3771, Free Handle.

I'm afraid to do anything now

The changes to b27 are very minor; I'm not sure what you guys are seeing.

I deleted the account/mailbox and re-created it from scratch. It is a generic pop3 account, stored on SD card, download 400 lines, qsyc every 30 minutes.

It redownloaded 6 messages. Tap the 1st one, tap -> .. RESET.

    Same error message.

This was NOT happening with 2.0b26. I haven't installed any application (other than Chatter update to 3.0b27 in a week. No other application runs in the background (besides Keycaps600, Datebk6 alarm manager).

Maybe it was something specific to the messages I had.

I found that while tapping -> to go to the next was causing a reset, I could tap x (to delete) and chatter would display the next message. So I did that to delete 4 of my larger HTML messages, did a qsync to clear them off the server. I now have 2 read messages in my inbox, which I can read and navigate using -> and <- keys.

I'm sitting tight till I get home and download these 2 messages (that I care about) to my PC.

I always get a reset when I receive an e-report from nfl.com. When I first receive it, I am only able to view illegible code, but after the reset, I am able to read the email just fine. Since I only get this email once or twice a week, I haven't been too concerned with digging for a fix.

FWIW, I am not seeing any errors as reported by aprasad. However, I only use IMAP accounts. I'm on a Sprint 700p.

What happened to No Doze in Performance setting page? I don't see it. It is still described in the Help page..

    Is that a default now?

I see the following on that page:

    Persisent connection
    Quick exit
    Latency
    Updates to server
    Signal reqd for data

I'd like to see an original via "redirect", if possible, so that the problem can be fixed.

By the way, my Treo is updating correctly in the background .. so I'm not complaining. I just noticed that that setting is gone from that page.

It just happened again. This is from a service (Medscape) that sends me e-mails about health issues. Theis e-mails are causing the problems.

I got another e-mail from them that I have forwarded to support@chatteremail.com

If I tap on the e-mail and then -> button, I get a reset.

I get the same problem! I thought it was just me. The ones that cause me the problem come from Cingular. Some more info: After the reset, the font is all funky on those particular emails as well.

I would need to see an original of one of these messages; that means using "redirect" (or "resend") from a PC - Thunderbird can do this, as can Entourage on a Mac. Forwarded mail does NOT help me figure out the problem. I'd also need to know whether this is IMAP, EX, or POP3, and an email telling me who the message will be coming from (it will appear to come from the original sender).

    <Joke>
    Marc,
How about adding "redirect" feature to Chatter?
