Well...after much deliberation...and many years of using my Tungsten T...just took the plunge and ordered my first Treo...the 680 in Graphite. (No other option in Australia!)

Now I'm trying to figure out what car kit and 4gb sd card....the website I bought the Treo through has the following Options at pretty good prices....

    Any comments? These be ok?

    4gb Card
    http://www.expansys.com.au/p.aspx?i=126808 Aust. $133.95
Looks like this is Non SDHC - so hope it would work??

ORA Car Pack for Palm Treo 680 - Aust. $28.95
    http://www.expansys.com.au/p.aspx?i=143316

I'd like some way to do hands free chats in the car....would I be better off buying something else more expensive like a Seidio G4500M? (Or do I get one of those bluetooth ear piece things?)
Any help greatly appreciated for this Treo babe in the woods!

Seems that the 150x Transcend 4gb is popular AND successfully usable with a T680 and T700p
Now it's the WAITING GAME: a GSM Palm Pre
    T680 (COPPER) + Cingular = FUN!!
    My T650 & 6230b and NX70 are retired... =(

I'm sure the "carkit" works as described, but if you really want to bling up your ride, get one of these: http://www.expansys.com.au/p.aspx?i=127593

I use one with my 650 and it is brilliant. If you have a dodgy stereo, you could pick the Rhythm and Blue instead: http://www.expansys.com.au/p.aspx?i=127845

Have fun. Let us Oz folk know when you get it. I didn't realise any suppliers had it available and in stock yet...

Thanks for the tip on the card...I've ordered the Transcend...

Thanks for the ideas re: Car Kit..main things I'm interested in are:

    Power
    Mounting unit
    Hands free ability
    Option for GPS receiver
audio connection to car stereo..(currently got one of those old cassette adaptors with my Tungsten.)

I'll keep researching other options too. Thanks again!
