Charge the battery... and use it dry... and then charge again...

ONCE is recommended, twice just to make sure...

Think I'll start a thread just devoted to order received so that as soon as someone's status changed, we can be notified.

not a bad idea/gesture...been hearing that Dec 1st (next Friday) will be the first unlocked shipments....

Well, I have heard nothing and wouldn't believe anything I heard anyway. I'd say that they could ship tomorrow and they might not ship for a week or two more...who knows....how would one know...?

I've heard just as much info recommending against this as I have recommending for it. People swear by it, but I've never seen it make any difference.

Much of the literature I've seen suggests that Lithium Ion batteries don't like to be completely drained, ever. Charge it once fully before using it the first time, then top it off whenever you can. Try not to run it all the way down, but don't worry if you do. The life of the battery will depend more on luck and temperature than anything else.

No matter what you do, the battery will need to be replaced in a year or two, maybe three if you're really lucky. Whether you use it or not doesn't matter. Put it in a drawer for three years, and it will still be dead.

Take comfort in the fact that you'll probably want a new phone before then, anyway. If not, a new battery will probably only run you about $20 by then.

Yes I too am satisfied over the 700p I currently own.

    >I love the size (no stub) !
    >Screen is great brightness
    >No major resets!
    >wish Blazer was a tab bit faster (coming from 700p Vz)
    >wish earpiece volume was a little louder (not as loud as 700p)
(Volume care doesn't work) - caused a reset loop for me
    >battery life is quite good considering size

    Cheers

How do you feel about the loss of data speed compared to the 700p? Do you notice any of the lags when switching apps that the 700p had?

Can anyone with a 680 confirm that ludusp works for the 680? I'm hoping to remap the keys myself once I get mine.

How could you even consider losing evdo.

My bro is on sprint and i have EVDO/3G envy... omg, he can stream audio/video... why I am still with cingular (ok, grandfthered features and the liberty of GSM)...

but I would be so tempted to get a 700p...

well, I dont do any streaming of video or music, just email and simply web browing - news, weather, etc.

yes I am torn with losing evdo but the 680 is more advanced and stable so I just might overlook evdo for now

data speeds are ok - of course I would love it to be faster, like the 700p, but I dont really need too much in web department - I rely on Chatter and some simply web stuff so I guess I will learn to adapt to the 680

    no button lag for me
