An old-phone ringer as my main (I've posted it in a thread, somewhere...).

Similar to above w/ a double ring ("ring, ring") for unknown callers.

    Wife is chirping birds

Bro./good friends is the ESPN 6-tone theme

Work is the "gavel" from Law & Order

    SMS is morse code

    EDIT - Here's the link:

I use the "XXXnice" as my main and the UK bell (ring, ring) for unknown callers.

For anybody who can answer, how can you play an mp3 as your ringtone? I haven't figured that out yet.

You can purchase a third party ring-tone manager (such as Lightwav or CallFilter or mRing)

You can convert the .mp3 to a .wav, which the Treo (at least the 700p) can recognize.

You can convert the .mp3 to a .amr using Nokia's software.

You can use a program I've not tried called minitones, which converts .mp3s to a format the Treo recognizes

If you do a search on this forum using the keywords I've provided, you'll find lots of info, as well as pros and cons. There are many, for example, including myself, who have sworn off third party ringtone managers because they slow down the device and cause corruption and resets. Others (far more fortunate than I) don't experience such problems. So you'll have to investigate for yourself. Take care.
