Shimon, takephone singlehandedly has kept on on the palm platform for nearly two years. If you would find it in your heart to port takephone or more specifically the calling card functionality to windows mobile, it would be beyond cool. And worth your while I think.

    Hi all,

    A new version (already!) posted at www.shsh.com/beta - 1.70 (002)

    - Fixes an issue causing TAKEphONE to disappear after a soft reset.

    Thanks.

I just install 7.00 on top of the latest 6.5 release. Everything seems to working fine. Changes are mostly cosmetic except for the new find screen which will take some getting used to.

I can't seem to use my old skin on the new app. Are old skins not compatible with 7.0?

Attached is skin that I was using with TP6.5. It does not show up at all with 7.0. The default hi-rez skin looks okay, but I would like to compare it to my old skin.

It would also be nice to be able to delete the low-rez skins to free up some space.

While we are discussing cosmetics. it would be nice to reorder the appearance of the tabs and hide the ones that are disabled. Zlauncher does a very nice job of handling this look and feel. Something similar in TP would be cool.

    Hi,

Older skins are not compatible, cause I moved and resized things...
I will try to convert the skin you posted.

The low-res skins are actually bitmaps hard-coded as a default, and do not take up much space. They are required for low-res devices - mainly the Treo 600.

Tabs re-ordering will come around later on.

Sweet, tab re-ordering was one question I was about to ask.. Now, some other things.

Is the 2-day'ish view new, or did I just never see it before? Tapping the [=] looking button (three lines in a square) beside the [o] button above CLR.

Is it possible to go ahead and dial the number if you have started typing one in and press the Green phone button (650)? It changes tabs right now, and for some reason I always want to hit the green button. I don't place too many calls, so maybe it's just me

Something I noticed, and I don't know if it's new.. I was dialing a number with the 5-way and I got to the 4th digit and it jumped from the dial pad to the top, so instead of continuing to navigate the dial pad, you have to hit Right (goes to CLR), Down (goes down to 3) then continue. Seems quirky. I used to use a hard case, so I was fairly sensitive to 5-way nav, so I figured I'd check it out and see how the navigation goes in the new layout.

One other quirky thing, and this isn't new, but mentioning it.. I think due to me using FontSmoother and a non-default font, the middle area which shows the number/person being dialed shows 3 lines of text, a line, perhaps 8 or so pixels, then another line. Now, if I go to Zoom and back out, the extra line disapears. Any other tab and back, the second line is there. See this URL: http://imagebin.org/index.php?mode=image&id=6514

Just found the ability to turn off the Vmail icon via the pull down menus. Yippie.

I always found hitting the vmail icon with my stylus to be awkward especially when driving down the highway at 60 mph. The pull down menu is much more reliable.

I was thinking that you could check, if the input/search is clear, then loop, otherwise dial the current number/person.

Yeah, I'm sure, I tried it 4-5 times. Happens every time on the fourth digit.

Thanks Simon! Looks great so far!

Very nice! I really like the new list view in the find screen. The status bar is great too. 2 comments:

Any chance you could show the voice memo status/count indicator for the built-in voice memo app on the Treo 700p? If you need room, you could bump the date off the status bar as there is already an option to show it at the top of the screen.

Second: Could the two different flavors of the find screen be made into separate screens so that I could use the phone button to quickly move between them and I could set one to come up by default whenever I start TAKEphONE.

Thanks!! This is a great enhancement.

I currently use a hi-res blue and grey theme. Does one exist for v. 7?

I do not, we have enough screens as it is; though handy it would be. I have come to accept it.

The Alt button to switch between the two views on the Find Tab is very nice. I must have missed that one in the doc. Oh wait, there are no docs!
