    Hi,

I can not give up the blinking, since I want those alerts to show up on every screen, and there is no room for them. For the same reason - I can not allow access with the 5way...

I cant think of another way to do this, other than make an exception:
on all screens those alerts will behave as they do now (blinking alerts on top), except if you are in the "Find" screen, and in "List" view - there the alerts will behave as before - appear as a steady icons besides the email & sms icons on the status line, with 5way access.

You will have to suffer the blinking in other screens - you can set it to show "small".

Anyway - afraid I am NOT making this change now - got to first declare the current version 7.00 an official release.
Once I am done with this - I will start doing the next step.

Shimon, never got a response to the above.

    Hi,

As mentioned above - not right now - version 7.00 is pretty much close for additional features until it's officially released.

Why dont you use 2dial for this ?

I just feel that in TakePhone, its a much cleaner look and no need for 2DIAL to open up a new screen. -i rather have my calling card/contact direct to the default phone app.

--if this is too much can I request you add more characters to 2DIAL?

I sure hope that the double notifications issue for missed calls is fixed soon. I don't want to overstate things, but it is a bit of a nuisance to always have to dismiss a notification twice.

I'm confused...I only clear my missed call indicator once from Takephone.

I have to clear the alert from the treo's attention manager, then when I enter takephone...that missed call alert is still there...it should be cleared when I clear the treo alert manager alert.

    Hi,

    Let me recap:

The only solution to this is - I can add an option to disable the TAKEphONE treatment of missed calls.

This would mean you will not have to clear it twice, but would also mean you will only have the "system" alert - flashing bell icon on the title, no detailed missed calls popup list.

Reason - if I have to sync the missed call alert with the system one, I can not know what calles were missed (the information is not supplied).

So - if you turn TAKEphONEs treatment of missed calls off - there will be no specific icon for this (only the system "bell" blinking icon on the title), no popup list with the missed call details, no access via menu (only press & HOLD the OK button).

Is this ok ? should I add this option ?

So if we had an option to disable Takephone's treatment of "missed calls," then we would still see an indication of missed calls from within Takephone (of course we would not be able to see the list of callers), but it would be in sync (and thus if cleared from the normal attention manager it would also be cleared from Takephone) with the normal Treo system alerts for "missed calls." If this is the case, I would really appreciate having that option. Thank you very much for considering this request!

    True.

One remark - you will see the "system" alert for missed calls within TAKEphONE - which is NOT distinguishable from the other alerts.
That is - you will see a blinking bell icon, you will not be able to know if it's there because there was a missed call, or because there is another system alert (caneldar alarm, etc.)

This sounds reasonable to me. Thank you.

    I like this.

I like the standard Treo alert.

    I vote yes

No, No. I for one (and I hope there are others) would not like to see this changed. TP is a phone app. To me it makes sense that it monitors missed phone calls, not other system alerts. I would not prefer a phone app to monitor my missed alarm clock. Plus, I like the quick list. In my opinion your current implementation is good. Just my 2 cents.

i want the option of turning it on and off in TP. I don't like the double notification. Also, i like the X and V near the BT/signal meter better than the flashing things in the corner.

That's controlled in Preferences/Display; choose Alerts: small.
