    At what stage does the delay occur ?
    What do you see on screen ?
    Is it totally empty (white) ?

    Shimon,

    I've deleted (051) and reverted to build (042). Even after choosing "Voicemail - do not handle", that annoying blinking voicemail icon would show after I was notified of a voicemail by the Treo's builtin system. I'm using a Treo 680.

    When I start up Takephone (build 50/51)... with email enabled...

    I press my phone button...

    Screen is painted...except for the contact list. The area that has the contact list shows up as a white box for about 3-4 seconds.

    This doesn't happen in builds before 50/51 (build 22...etc)..

    I always have/had Takephone 7.x showing the number of emails, so the delay is something new.

    The delay occurs as soon as I enter or leave TakePhone. Entering, the screen goes blank/white and pauses, then the TakePhone display draws. When leaving, there is a pause, then the screen goes blank/white, then the app I'm launching draws.

    The blank/white and pause with TakePhone is very noticeably longer than from any other application.

    The voicemail alert - did not know there was such an alert - I use a GSM device...
    I can clear that one, too, I believe. I need someone to test it for me, though.
    Shimon, You have to understand that in order for me to even get to Takephone, I usually first have to clear the Treo's (Sprint Treo 700P) system alerts for Voicemails/Missed calls. Then, I have to additionally clear the alerts in Takephones application as well. I don't have an issue with the shortcuts or anything like that. It's simply that I have to clear each alert twice, first in the Treo's default attention manager (or whatever dialog it pops up) and then in Takephone. I think my biggest issue is probably with the alert for "missed calls," because I have to acknowledge it twice. The voicemail flashing icon isn't that bad because I assume it will clear once I acknowledge any outstanding voicemail.

    Hi all,

    Let me try and sum things up here:

    * mogulman:
    =========

    You are using a Treo 700p.

    You say you have a severe delay when you launch TAKEphONE. It draws the FIND screen, then gets "stuck" with an empty list for 3-4 seconds, then draws emails info, and fill the search list.

    This delay goes away if you disable "Email" in the "Display" prefs page ?

    Are you using BizCon as the default mail program ?
    Is it set in both TAKEphONE and the system "Prefs"->"Default apps" ?

    * Gordol:
    =======

    You're complaining about a different delay - when you launch TAKEphONE, you first see a blank (white) screen for several seconds, the TAKEphONE draws, and all is ok ?

    Same when you exit TAKEphONE - the screen blanks (white) for several seconds, the the next app is launched ?

    Working on the other issues. I have a missed call and a voicemail now... ewww... I hate those blinking round circles for voicemail/missed calls. Going to Treo alert manager and clearing alerts doesn't get rid of the missed call alert. I don't like that. I liked the old method. Especially having to clear the missed call alerts 2x. That's bad.

    Exactly...

    I have it set as the default in Palm OS and helper is Takephone. Actually it is the generic version of Bizcon, called Seven, but same app. I've been using it with Takephone for years.

    Hi all,

    Posted version 7.00 (052) at www.shsh.com/beta

    - Moved the "Missed call/s" & "Voicemail" blinking alerts to a new
    place over the "roaming" & "forwarding" icons. This way they
    are less "big & ugly", do not waste additional screen space,
    and are noticeable. Remember: Menu+X for missed calls,
    Menu+V for voicemail, Menu+W for forwarding.

    Thanks.

    While people are digesting that, I have another request please:

    I just had to SMS someone a phone # which I didn't know offhand.

    This involved finding the # in my addressbook, opening the contact, clicking edit, then highlighting the # to I could copy it.

    I think it would be cool if Copy were one of the choices in the Do menu when looking at the detail screen of a contact.

    Thanks for all the hard work!

    i kinda like the old yellow hi-res icons in the cornor better than the red flashing v and x letters in the right cornor, i understand people saying that they have to clear the alerts twice, would be nice that once u cleared in system it cleared with takephone, but at this time it doesnt look like it can be an option, how about an option for the missed and v/m icons either hi-res ones that were in release 51 or low-res letters in release 52, for now i am moving back to 51, being that alerts still dont clear in takephone when u clear in system and the yellow icons in the cornor i like better, i am already used to looking in that area.

    Hi,

    Afraid I had to make a compromise between the two approaches - thus I decided to go with the smaller blinkers on the right.

    I dont think I will make it an option - too many options, to big a program as it is...

    As to syncing between the system alerts and TAKEphONEs - I need some help here - is it true that there is also a system alert (blinking bell + attantion manager when pressing and holding the OK button) for voicemail ?

    I cant test this here, since I dont get a voicemail alert at all with my GSM carrier (just an SMS message).

    If this is true, then I need someone to email me if willing to help me test stuff.

    Thanks.

    Shimon, it does NOT send the SMS at all.

    (test it with a simple "hello" goes through..)

    --but with VCard "//" characters nothing comes in. aka no SMS

    re: New Red Missed Call notification:

    I vote for the old OEM styled bliking yellow bell. can you bring that back?

    -red blinker is so tiny, I can miss it easily
