Ok, I figured out how to clear the missed call "blinkie" in TakePhone...BUT...you have to also be a 2Day user.

I you miss a call, the missed call is caught by the built in alert manager as well as 2Day and TakePhone if you use these programs. Clearing the alert in the Treo's alert manager DOES NOT clear the alert in 2Day or Takephone. There seems to be no way built into TakePhone to clear the missed call alert, as I noted in my post above. However I just discovered that clearing the alert in 2Day WILL clear the alert in Takephone.

Shimon, this seems a bit ackward to clear a missed call alert in three (3) separate programs (alert manager, 2Day, TakePhone). If there any way to have 2Day and Takephone clear their alerts once the alert manager alert has been cleared?

I have the same issue with Takephone 7.0 build 046, and a Sprint Treo 700P.

Sure, I read it and I think I agree with it in its entirety. I believe that this is a short term mistake with the latest Takephone beta, and that Shimon will correct it in an upcoming release.

As you noted in that post, you can only clear the blinking missing call icon if you're a 2Day user. If you're not (like me), then the flashing icon can drive you mad! I agree with paulsjmail that it's just a quirk with the new beta and I'm sure Shimon will correct it soon -- he's always been so responsive dealing with issues!

    Hi all,

Sorry about this "missing call" issue.

If possible - I'd like any of you having the icon stuck right now
to email me, so I can send some test builds (cant recreate this myself).

There are actually two types of "missed call" alerts here:
    1. The built-in PHONE app on the Treo 680 raises it's own "missed calls" alert.

    2. 2day & TAKEphONE (using the same mechanism) are implementing my own mechanism to detect missed calls. This mechanism lets me also know the details of the missed call/s.

    3. While it is possible for TAKEphONE to only use the built-in alert - the only info I can get then is the existance of one or more missed calls - I will not be able to show a list of missed calls with their time, only take you directly to the full call log screen.

    4. What I did design for it to do is - if you do get rid of the TAKEphONE alert - it will also clear the built-in alert. But I cant do the other way around.

Have you tried tapping the blinking icon? I had a missed call today. I tapped the blinking icon in the title bar and got a two-line menu: "Just turn off" and the caller-id of the missed call. "Just turn off" kills TakePhone's indicator.

My problem with it is that it's so close to where the PalmOS alert icon is for the Attention Grabber that I though it was the Palm's icon at first so I tried the center-button hold first.

    I'm using a Treo 680.

You can either tap the blinking icon, or press Menu+X

    Hi all,

    New version - 7.00 (050) - at www.shsh.com/beta

    - Treo: Changed extra-digits (pause) mechanism to handle working alongside 3rd party apps, such as mVoice.

    - Treo: Roaming display in all main screens (if "Show roaming" option enabled in "Treo" prefs page).

    - Missed calls: Fixed bug in "Missed calls" treatment.

Thanks to all those who helped resolve this !

    Hi all,

Real sorry about this - I guess I rushed into posting build 7.00 (050) to fix the "missed calls" issue, I did not spend enough time with it to test.

    Posted version 7.00 (051) at www.shsh.com/beta

Fixes a (stupid) bug causing resets when opening a contact "Details" view.

    Thanks.

Simon: Thanks for posting 051. I was about to report that exact same bug on the contacts detail, when I was trying to make a call at first.

    Hi,

    Very strange.

Can you describe any differences between whne it crashes, and not ?

Did you have any alerts active, maybe ?
Or fwd ? or roaming ?

I am not a big fan of these visual changes
Treo: Moved forwarding & speaker status icons to top line (always visible).

Treo: Moved missed calls & voicemail statis icons to top line
    (blinking alerts on title).

No need for me to always see the speaker status icon. I find the blinking icons over the title to be annoying and it looks lousy.

I know this is a "can't satisfy everyone" situation" for you. One way to satisfy everyone would be to make the icon bar configurable so that users can pick which icon they want and where it should go. Zlauncher does a nice job of this with their tool bars.

help... updated to 51 build this morning on my way to work. it seems to have slowed things down a lot. I have a treo 700p.

when I press the phone button now, I am switched immediately to Takephone but there is a 3-4 second delay while the contacts db is loaded. I see a blank contacts list window during this time.

build 50 is the same speed-slow..

I'm not going to be much help here, sorry. I do know I wasn't roaming nor did I did I have forwarding enabled. I'll keep a closer watch if it happens again.
