    I see what you mean.

Will try to add this as an option later on.

No. sorry. If it does not work it is too much trouble to restore the machine. (Java and LaunchAnywhere do not restore from the card and require a few resets to work.) I will stick with 8.02 for now.

No such problem on my 650, but I guess we really need some 700p users to chime in on this...

    Hi Shimon....

Build 008 works great. No Problems. Thank You for fixing this so fast.

On the Prubin issue, I have a Sprint 700p and did a soft reset with Resco Explorer. The reset screens cycled through normally and the Sprint splash screen came up and the phone radio turned itself on, went through a network search and found the network in a couple seconds.

If Prubin's Sprint 700p had brain freeze, I would suspect something else caused it.

As I said, TP 7 build 008 working great on Sprint 700p. Excellent customer service!

Thanks again, and a happy new year to you too!

As usual, awesome responsiveness. As a long time (early adopter) of TakePHONE I can't speak highly enough of the app and your support. Keep up the fantastic work.

    Happy New Year!

Java not restoring - sounds like you are using BackupManager. If so, then go to Resco Backup - it does restore everything except pictures you have taken with your camera that are stored on the device.

Is there a way to use the 5-way pad to change the contact category? I am using 008 and can't seem to scroll over to the category selection drop down box using the D-pad.

Never mind - I found the option to have up arrow select it.

I noticed in release 008 that on the Speed Dial if I use the 5-way nav button to move to the right, it just moves over 1 of the speed dial entries before moving to the next tab (Find in my case) while the 002 Beta would allow a user to go through all the active Speed Dial entries (I have 5 columns of them) before going to the next tab.
    Why the change?

Same problem here Shimon. Please revert to the previous means of 5-waying through the speed dials.

    Hi,

I am adding an option to revert to previous behaviour.

Only drawback - this would mean you will not be able to move through tabs using left/right - only using the PHONE button.

    Hi all,

    A new version - 7.00 (010) - is at www.shsh.com/beta

    - Options: Added another prefs page: “Buttons & navigation”.

    - Options: Added option – select left/right presses action:
change tabs or start 5way mode (navigating between
    controls on screen).

    - Options: Added option – if left/right presses set to change tabs –
when in “buttons view” (like in speed-dial) – it moves pages.

    - Options: Added option – OK button (center 5way button) opens
details in call log, or starts dialing.

    - Options: Added option – Use or ignore GREEN button on
    Treo 680/700p.

    - Options: Added option – Separate settings for text
color & border in buttons (in addition to the settings for lists) –
    in the “Fonts” prefs page.

    - Options: Added option – Set default type of a scheduled call –
    task / one-day event / float.

    - Options: Added option – Selection of type of accented chars
support – none / standard (Palm) / Polish. If anyone needs
    another language – email me.

    Thanks !

    Wow! Great work, Shimon.

These new changes allow me to try something I've been thinking about for a while. I'm changing the phone button to just cycle through TAKEphONE and Phone app and using the long press for redial instead of launching the phone app.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for all the hard work on TAKEphONE and all your other apps. You should be nominated for the hardest working man in the Treo business. May the new year bring you much success and lot's of new customers!

    Shimon,

I recently installed PhoneDisconnect and noticed something odd that I'm not sure is being caused by TAKEphONE or PhoneDisconnect. When I miss a call the system displays the Missed Call popup. Part of what PhoneDisconnect does is display and audible alarm at a predefined time interval after a missed call. Once this alarm sounds the screen turns off. When I turn it back on and dismiss the Missed Call dialog TAKEphONE displays >>In Call<< in the upper left hand corner but its not in a call.

This is most likley PhoneDisconnect but I'm just wondering if there's something in TAKEphONE that might be contributing to the issue.

I noticed 2 things in the speed dial list...

On the Treo built-in list I have 20 entries . The fill up 14 slots in the first page and then the first 6 on page 2.

On Takephone (10 entries/page in 2 column mode), there are 10 entries on Page 1. On Page 2, it goes from 11-17. 18,19,20 are blank. Then on Page 3, I have 21,22,23. This seems like a bug?

Anyone have an opinion on the # of speed-dial entries/page in Takephone?

I personally never use my finger, so the more the better... 14 (like the Treo list) or even more in 2 column mode.

We both have the same number of entries (I have a few more actually) and none of the numbers are blank. Did you "compact"/defrag the list from within its preferences -->>manage drop down menu?

I just wanted to add my plaudits to those of the other posters.
I had registered v6 on my old 600, but had ended up by deleting it, because I found the interface a bit confusing and it may have been contributing to stability problems.

Well this new version solves both of those probs and is a joy to use. Very intuitive! I was also happy to see that, at least at this stage, my v6 registration details still work - will that be the case for the final version?

On a minor note, I was also happy that you just added that new Button option to make the Left/Right-5-way buttons shift between Speed-Dial pages. That removed the only annoying thing I had found with the app. I am happy with the number of choices per Speed-dial page, but to make everyone happy perhaps the number could be make matter of choice?

Great work, and Happy New Year!!

I have some newbie navigation questions for the latest beta on a treo 650.

Basically I want to use the 5-way mode as much as possible (I have the treo in a hard case).

    1) I can't find a way to just "dial a number". In the "Find" screen, I can start 5-way and dial a couple of digits. Then the "find" doesn't match anything and the focus goes back to the '21' (For example) and I have to re-start 5-way and go back to the digits. Highly annoying. Suggested fix is for '5-way' to remain in 5-way mode when there are no find matches, then we can time-out to select and dial.

In the "Dial Pad" screen, there does not seem to be any 5-way mode at all unless I am missing how to start it. Is there one?

    2) In the "Find" screen, I press 'up' to start 5-way, and the category picker is highlighted, then I can press 'down' twice to get to the '1' digit. 99% of the time I want to just dial a number or find a name. Can we have an option to start the 5-way on a digit, like '2' or '5'? That would eliminate at least 2 nav clicks for most use cases.

    3) In the "Speed Dial" screen, I have the "in buttons view - move pages" option enabled. I have only 35 contacts, it would be nice if right-nav skipped the blank (41-50, 51-60, 61-70), which would save 6 right-nav clicks getting to the dialpad screen.
