On Treo 650: How do I copy a link address without actually visiting that link?

This will be useful when copying addresses to paste into the Kinoma Player. But I don't want to actually visit the Youtube or Google Video sites .. just copy the address.

Well, I do not think that is possible. You can type it in though. Ben

Yeah, but URL's are huge these days. I wish we could tap-n-hold the link and get a pop-up that let us copy the link's address.

I keep Downloader around for just this reason. It lists all the URLs found on a particular webpage.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

That's for downloading the files to the Treo. I want to copy the address to paste it into Kinoma Player. One can't browse, say Google Video on the Blazer, copy an address of a clip, and paste it into Kinoma very easily.

Anyway, looks like the short answer is: No, it's not possible to do what I want in Blazer :-(

Yeah, that's why it was created (although Sharkdownload is faster), but I use it to list the links on a page; I can then copy the link I'm interested in and paste it wherever I'd like. That doesn't work for you...why?

Honestly .. I haven't tried it yet! Just anticipating problems :-)

Thanks for the idea. I'll re-install Downloader. It goes against my philosophy of installing the minimum # of apps on the Treo, but it should be pretty harmless, sitting on the SD card.

There is a way to trick Kinoma Player 4. Since Kinoma's new player can read .pls files, copy the link into a plain text document. Change the extension to a .pls from txt, copy it to your sd card and put it in the /palm/programs/kinoma directory. You will see it under the playlist filter, and it will launch the url to the video without blazer. You can also email it or post it here so we all can try it.
