Running the latest version (6.6.4.160) on the desktop and ver 6.5.5.296 on the Treo 650.

I normally do manual sync only (no push or scheduled sync). More often than not, a manual sync will result in error "S7121:Cannot connect to Desktop". If I change to scheduled sync, then in 15-30 minutes, the Treo will sync successfully in the background. All this without any intervention by me on the desktop.

Why does this happen? How come Scheduled sync will work (somewhat) reliably but manual sync fails to connect to the desktop? Is it that scheduled sync just keeps on trying and eventually succeeding?

By the way, I can see the traffic (the network icon in the taskbar on the desktop) when I do a failed manual sync. So the signal is making it to the desktop, but I still get the S7121 on manual sync very often.

Connection.log and slingshot.log does not provide any hints on what's going on.

    Any ideas?
