I'm not disappointed either. The browser looked great. Very promising.

With the bugzillas I've used you need to setup a cron job to run hourly or daily or whatever to "whine" about overdue bugs, etc. Whenever someone enters a bug or it changes owner (or whatever) it should send an email immediately (using the configured choice of sendmail, qmail, etc in defparams.pl and of course if the sendmailnow option is on in defparams.pl).

    Did neither email work?
I'll pull up what error bugzilla reported tomorrow.

    Donald,

I am wondering with all the bugs that has been stated here, could there be any likely hood that some of these bugs could be related to the issues with the palm os software itself that a lot of people are experiencing and complaining about with the 700p?

That is possible. It is also possible that the reason that Clie users are having crashes is because Sony (or Palm after OS 5.2.1) made some tweaks that changed the way parts of the OS operated.

And of course, it can also depend on software installed. For instance, using a program to lock data into the cache on NVFS devices can severely limit what other programs have available.

Unfortunatly, it is really hard to tell.

I am in the process of re-writing big chunks of the code. Unfortunatly the code was written to work as a WAP browser, and then it was converted to a web browser with out many important changes. This time things will be done right.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. Do you have any idea about how long this rewrite will take?

Not 100% sure. I have two paths that I can take, but both would take just as much time.

My goal is to work with some other people to help speed this process up.

For those of you who haven't checked the site recently, dkirker has put out an updated beta and an updated gif library, as well as a find button fix. http://www.wapuniverse.com

    Is this the rewrite?

No, it's just slightly updated. Fixed a few of the crashes I was getting...created a couple more. Overall a better beta than the original.

I think that I posted that update a few weeks back.

I am working on the re-write. Things are moving along pretty smoothly.

I am getting things ready so that I can work with Henk Jonas on the WebKit port (mostly I am trying to get a couple of version control tools, SVN and SVK, working nice so that I can keep the WebKit repository and the Palm WebKit repository in sync).

I also have some code in for UniverseCore.

I will be posting information regarding this soon on the blog (http://blog.openmobl.com/), as well as a link to a new website.

It appears to be because of the stray ')'. I'll fix it.

    Edit: Ok, fixed!

Working on getting a system set up so that Henk Jonas and I can keep our work in sync as well as pull updates from the WebKit.org SVN. This is taking a bit of work (trying to understand how tools such as SVK work).

Just dropping by. There are a few new sites regarding Universe. Details can be found here: http://blog.openmobl.com/2007/04/some-web-sites.html

I am starting to make some good progress with the new engine, and the WebKit port is just starting to get under way.

There is also some other cool info at http://blog.openmobl.com/.

I will probably be posting some more info regarding Universe, UniverseCore, PalmOS WebKit and Galaxy (watch for info on Galaxy) since they will all be licensed in different ways (for a few reasons).

Off to finish up the html/xml parsing engine (btw, it is a port of libsgml).

Nice work, dkirker. Thank you for this!

I guess this is a great app but I can't seem to get any of the url's I normally use Blazer for, so it's not quite ready for me, guess. Most of my sites are https. Would that be the reason I'm getting nowhere with this?

    Yes.

With all the posting going on about the lag on the 700p, I was wondering: is there the same lag in opening Universe that there is in opening Blazer on the 700p?
