I have just updated my rom with the FAT32.prc file (delete the old fat file and realplayer). How can I confirm that the FAT32 has been properly installed.

I was under the impression that i would lose everything from my palm (contacts and calendars stuff) when i upgrade the filesystem and i would have to resynch it. It seems like everything is still there though.

    thanks.

Updating the rom via "ace cvt2" from the card doesn't wipe the phone. (I think maybe the firmware update does, but you don't need to do that to update the Palm rom.)

You're not changing the way the phone accesses internal storage (ram), only sd card storage. FAT32 can read FAT16, so you don't need to reformat your card unless you want to mess with block sizes and relative access speeds.

As for your original question, you can use FileZ to display the files in rom. There's a check box in the upper right portion of the file display; make sure it's checked, then scroll for a file called "FAT32"--you won't see the .prc extension.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was under the impression that you are changing the File system in the internal memory as well to Fat32, so anything software i had installed was going to be wiped.
