Efax now wants to charge even more.
"The monthly subscription fee for all eFax Plus numbers on your account will be changing. Starting on your next billing date, the monthly fee for each of your eFax number(s) will be $16.95."

check out maxemail. It was created by the same people who created efax before selling it off.

I thought there was a fax over phone solution for the Treo. I think it costs $40+, but there's no monthly fee.

Add another myfax user. $10/mo with a toll-free number is awesome, their customer service was great the few times I've needed to call.

I pay only $19.95/year for a toll free number with trustfax.com. I don't think there is a better deal out there. The only feature lacking compared to efax for example is that it does not have a print driver. So for example if you have a page on screen, you cannot fax it to someone by using a virtual printer.

However if you can save the page to your hard drive, then you can fax it via email just fine.

For $20/year, you can't beat that.

When did they send out the notice that the price was increasing ? I was just billed for my two numbers at the regular rate-I will most likely continue with eFax,as I've had the numbers for a while, and they also have the same area code and exchange as my voicemail numbers.

Here are the reasons I pay:

    1. My faxes are always available to me wherever I go: home, office, on the road, etc.

    2. As my faxes come electronically, they are sent to my gmail address for easy storage and retrieval later.

    3. I can read my faxes on the Treo using Acid Image Pro.

    4. I have a local fax number.

    5. Sometimes I get huge faxes. I don't worry about burning paper for long or stupid faxes.

    6. I can send faxes from the Treo, or from any computer anywhere.

    7. My fax number is on my engraved letterhead, which is expensive to change.

I haven't received any notice of a rate change yet. Hopefully it won't happen for a while.

I use CSFax (conklinsystems.com) - the beta which supports faxes as .tif is somewhat buggy... well not buggy, you just have to be very precise when creating your .tif, but it works GREAT and because of it I refuse to use efax. You can send directly from your treo using it as an actual fax machine (no pass through medium like faxthroughemail).
