I have searched on this topic here and found some information albeit none of it definitive. It appears that some folks CAN run PXA Clocker and others CAN'T.

*Is there now* or *will there be* an app that allows us to overclock our 700P's? I haven't as of yet found one that supports the 700P. I had heard that Dimitry was working on something but either I missed it or it hasn't landed yet.

    Thanks!

Yes there is. Don't know how stable, or of there is the update for 700p yet. But this is the only one I am aware of -

There is a thread about pxa clocker and the 700p

    Thanks.

Yeah, I read that thread as I mentioned in my first post but there really isn't any useable information in there. I was hoping for something a little more substantive.

    Thanks again!

i was able to get pxaclocker works for sometimes, then it randomly causing the white screen on my phone (lock up). Finally, I had to remove it completely. I don't know if there are any real overclock software out there.

Also while it was working, it only seems to be faster. I don't have any real measurement. I tried Speedy and few other speed measurement program, but none really show the advantage of overclock.

It would be nice if pxa clocker was reliable on the 700p. Maybe the next version (5.2) will work whenever they release it. I know its possible as there are apps for the 700 w/wx that overclock it.

    Smeggie,

With the release of Lightspeed 3.0 (public beta) we have added support for the 700p! So now for the first time it's possible to overclock the 700p.

For more info and to download Lightspeed visit www.clievideo.com.

    Thanks!!

I've been so busy with my iPod Touch, I haven't had much time to play with my 700P. I no longer watch any type of video or play any music with my 700P because the Touch does it all so much better. Yeah, I have to carry around another device and all of it's accessories - but it is worth it a million times over the headaches created by Palm.

Thanks again...I'll give it a try!!

I'm testing it now with my Treo 700p and it does not seem to play well with Kinoma 4EX and Softstick Audio Gateway for streaming to my bluetooth headset. Music skips alot, and my treo eventualy resets. I dont have this issue with the other apps

No. The CPU in the Centro is a Intel Xscale chip which are designed to be run at a wide span of frequencies. It is not overclocking in the sense that the CPU is set to run at a speed which it isnt built for, it is overclocking in the sense that one can set it to run at a higher speed than the default one set by Palm on the Centro.

What settings do you have these applications set to run at?

I'm a couple of days in using this and no issues whatsoever!! Thanks!!

I suggest only OC'ing individual apps like Agendus, LauncherX, Versamail, etc. (I max out those apps with no problem) I think doing an all-encompassing OC would definitely cause some issues with some things. I can notice a significant speed increase and all I can say is halle-fuggin-lujah!!! Thanks clievideo!!

The manual lists a bunch of functions that are disabled in the trial version, but then goes on to say that some of the functions that are disabled in the trial are not in the beta. Can someone tell me which of the disabled functions are not in the beta? I am specifically interested in Zlauncher, since I run it.

Setting speed for apps started vid ZLauncher shortcuts are disabled in both unregistered and beta version. This is added in the registered version of Lightspeed.
