Has anyone tried the new Iambic product YourCall?

I've just downloaded the trial. Looks cool. Would have been cooler if the option to do these actions were available during the call (while using handsfree or speakerphone). There is a 20% off coupon at Treonauts...

The other thing that would be cool is if YourCall would allow you to pick "helper" programs for the various "actions" that you can take.

For example, it would be nice if it took me to DateBk6 if I wanted to create a calendar entry, or my note program if I wanted to create a note.

The problem for me is I don't use any of the bundled PIM applications and I don't really want to reinvent my workflow to use this one little, somewhat helpful, program.

All that to say, I'm probably not going to buy it until it becomes a little more versitile

Looks like a cross between a stand-alone version of a Shark Message-style app and the SMS version of Agendus Premiere. Looks interesting...

As an iambic "insider," I was in the beta testing of YourCall. It works great and is just the beginning of what should develop into a killer-app! Your wishes/suggestions are all good ones. I highly recommend posting these to the "iambic forums: Feature requests." Michael is looking for good ideas on this!

So far I really like it. They need to tighten up the integration with Agendus and have the meeting, task, contact preferences you set up in Agendus used by YourCall.
    Thanks,

    Mark

I have been using it this week - I can take it or leave it right now and that is probably more related to how I use the Treo rather than the app itself. However, one thing I agree with that Andrew said at Treonauts, it would be nice to have access to it at other times. I might like to "launch" it at will - maybe not have it on for every call, but be able to launch it and use it from my Call Log. I am going to use it the full 15 days before I make a final decision.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing all of your observations of YourCall. We are proud of this little application.

As with any new application, there are always many ways to improve it and make it more versatile. We have a growing list of many improvements we want to add as time permits and users demand.

I think it's great. It adds a nifty feature to my Treo and it doesn't slow it down. (confirmed with palminternals via speed test). It also doesn't hook hede.

It works really well for numbers/contacts that are not already saved. It basically saves me a lot of button pressing which is one of the reasons I like palm os over symbian 3rd edition. Less button pressing to achieve the same task is the #1 reason I still prefer Palm OS over all these new OSs.

Also good to see that innovative and NEW apps come out for the Palm OS still, that makes an almost perfect phone even better!

Thanks for all the feedback on my thread. I just wanted to let people know that after using YourCall for several days and reading the posts here, I bought it. Good application, works well with Agendus, which I also use.

I am trialing this. My trial says 2nd of 3 days. What gives? How can you trial an app in 3days?

Never mind. I went to their site and requested a demo code which gives you 15 days.

I'm due to review the program, but one thing I'm not liking is the long pause that occurs if I select an action that involves adding an entry to, say, the Memo pad (I'm using the latest version of Agendus and a Treo 650)

Moreover, the memo entry has a slightly corrupted entry, saying ' call to ++++' with the caller represented by the correct name but then a line of five of six text boxes (i.e square text characters instead of letters).

I might wait on this until Agendus gets all its bugs out...Agendus 11.05 anyone?!

today I made a call from Favorites and at the end of the call YourCall popped up as usual, however, that person's info was not displayed in YourCall, just a long row of squares.

Funny you mention this as I just finished speaking with somone in my address book and as I expected YourCall popped up after the call but the name and number were all squares before I decided not to take any action. This is the first time this has happened to me:-( Those darn gremlins are rearing their ugly heads...

I personally haven't seen any major problems with 11.04, but I mostly make appointments or calls, add invitees to appointments, set location for appointments, notes. Occationally use Agendus for Contacts. Never do trips, memos, todo, templates, etc, so there's a lot of things Agendus does that I don't use.
