The standard pics can play the mpeg and etc files. But u really can't adjust your sound qualities and video qualities using it. With Tcpmp u can adjust the player to play the movie landscape or whatever else u want. It can zoom into the movie to make the pic bigger and can play som what witht he quality settings. Also, u can adjust the sound.

I don't recommend the standard player because everytime I have used it have problems with how it shows and reads the movie. I never had a movie skip or pause when I used tcpmp but when I used the standard player it does so alot. Thats my opion.

Any ways what do u have to lose installing tcpmp. It is kind of a must have. Its the number one freeware program. Its just simply the best.

I have installed tcpmp on the main rom so it is avaiable. the plugins on the sd to save space. but it is all up to u.

how does the battery handle playing movies for an extended period of time?
  11. #11
It depends what on what battery u have but. with the standard battery I can watch V for Vendetta and Take the Lead from a 100% maybe down to about 66% maybe a little more.

I really don't know for sure I never really looked at it much.

Make sure you have the right codecs installed depending on the type of file you are trying to play. Which codecs? - I don't have the link handy, but there is doc/instructions in the readme file or on the site somewhere. It's been so long I've forgotten.

figured it out... files have to be moved directly onto the palm desktop software, from the hard drive, then during sync they are now in and the right file format...

play even in the standard player so what is the purpose of installing tcpmp??
