    Hi all,

CallCards 1.51 for Treo has passed the initial beta phase, and is now released as a public beta.

    ===================================================

    Extra-digits:

    - Enables the use of extra-digits (pauses & extensions)
in phone numbers stored in the built-in "Contacts"
    or "KeyContacts" database.

    - Works with the built-in application, as well as 3rd
party applications, such as KeyContacts, VoiceDial, etc.

    Calling cards:

    - Define multiple call card rules for automating access
to calling card systems (you call a 'normal' phone
number, CallCards automatically wraps it with calling
the access-number, adding PIN, passwords, and the target
    number).

    - Rules can also be used for other number re-formatting
like adding area codes, removing/replacing prefixes, etc.

    "Define and forget":

Once you configure and enable CallCards - it does it's
work in the background, without a need for your intervention.

    ===================================================

CallCards is available for download at www.shsh.com/beta
    and it's a full-featured 30 days trial.

Any comments and input are most welcome !!!

I would like to thanks my initial beta groups for their efforts.

    Hi all,

    Just posted a new version - 1.51 (020) - at www.shsh.com/beta

    - Added "Capturing" - select (highlight) a number or address in almost any other application (e.g. The calendar app, the Memo app etc.), and press the PHONE button - the number/address will popup in a screen allowing you to call/SMS/email/browse it.

    - Fixed the hanging when calling numbers with '#' in the extra digits (caused by the dialer thinking it is an ilegal network dialing code).

    Thanks !

Sounds like a great app. I have very few numbers I have to do this sort of thing with, so using favorites works for me. But I can see that for many people this will be a super capability.

    Hi,

This is mainly for people using call-cards (e.g. to save money on long distance calls, etc.)

With the new capturing feature, do we want/need to disable OutCall?? Do they do the same thing?

    Hi,

If you use TAKEphONE, and have it assigned to the PHONE button, then you need OutCall (CallCards "capture" will not work).

If you do NOT have the PHONE button assigned to TAKEphONE - you need CallCards.

    Thanks.

Definitely I'd suggest putting that info in the docs, and if you can detect the presence of TAKEphONE on the Phone button, you might want to grey the option out.

I've found a bug w/ 023. This didn't happen w/ the version before 020 (and I didn't try the versions in between). What happens is that when CallCards is enabled, TAKEphONE is not able to return after a call. Instead I go to the default dialer. If I disable CallCards, then TAKEphONE returns correctly.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Can you check the setting in CallCards
    "when call ends launch..." ?

Dang! I completely missed that option. Is that a new feature? It's not in the manual. Thanks for clearing that up. The changed behavior _surprised_ me.

I just played with it a bit. Setting it to TAKEphONE gives me what I used to have, which is nice. I got very excited about the "calling app" option for that preference. It sounds like it would be really nice. But when I call from DateBK6 it returns to TAKEphONE after the call. When I call using voicedial, it now returns to the built-in dialer app (because voice dial seems to call that app to make the call). Ideally for me, a call from DateBK6 would return to DateBk6. A bit more "custom" would be that any time it would return to the built-in dialer, it would return to TAKEphONE instead.
