After you end a call (with caller ID) that's not in your Contacts list, normally the phone would automatically ask if you want to save the number to your contacts? This no longer happens. Do anyone know how I can you can bring that feature back?

In the Phone app: Menu, Options, Phone Preferences, Ask to add unknown phone numbers after calls.

Hey Mark. Thank you for the quick response. I don't know if Cingular 650 is different from your Sprint model. I do not see the ask unknown phone numbers after calls.

From reading the Palm One Cingular manual (page 48) for the phone, it looks like I have somehow permanetly deleted that feature. The manual actually states permantely disable.

    Thanks again.

The Cingular 650 might be different... the setting wasn't in the original Sprint ROM but was added in the first update IIRC.

The Cingular 650 doesn't have that option. Your only choice is to hard reset to get that option back.

DON'T TRY THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!! Probably an unsaved pref entry, maybe an entry that only contains that one bit of data. If you could identify the appropriate entry you could delete it and see what happens!!! Please post if you find it (I'd be interested)...

Unfortunately, Mr. Coffee is correct. This setting must be in the unsaved preferences file.

Here's an idea. How about a volunteer making this change and immediately checking the date/time of files in RAM, using a file manager like Resco Explorer? It'll probably be either Saved Preferences or Unsaved Preferences. The volunteer will have to do a hard reset and restore from a backup to get back this functionality ....

who the heck is Mr. Coffee? Anyway, I modify saved & unsaved prefs quite often & haven't had to hard reset (Kyo 6035, T600, T650). Knocks on wood...

Let me take part of that back. Never modified these files on the kyo 6035.
