Do I remember correctly than when I used to press the appllications button that it would take me one by one through the various categories?
Mine won't play nicely any longer.
So I performed a hard reset, pressed the apps button, and yep, rolls through the categories like a good button should.
Hot synced all my stuff, and Bye-Bye no more rolling through the categories. WTF?
    Any clues?
Is there some double secret probation setting or pref that I have inadvertently tweaked while unaware?
Not that this affects my life in any great way, but now it will drive me nuts.
    Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is some app you are syncing over that takes over the home button. Do you have LudasP installed?
    Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 700wx -> Mogul -> Touch Pro

No, I don't have LudasP. (what is it and should I? )
When I press the apps button it takes me to the "All" category, but each time I press again, it just goes to (or stays at) "All".
    Thanks!

LudasP is a shareware app that remaps the keys on the 700p (including the home key). I thought it would work on the 650, but there is no mention of it supporting it at http://www.ludustech.com/ludusp/.

Have you installed any other launchers on your Treo previously (LauncherX, ZLauncher, etc)? If so, they might have taken over your home button even if you uninstalled them. I read a post on another board where someone had an issue like yours after uninstalling ZLauncher.

This usually happens when a user has tried a 3rd party launcher and then deleted it without disabling it first. The solution is to reinstall the app, disable it and then delete it using the native application launcher's App/Delete menu.

Brilliant, Stroths and Bill G Thanks,
    I did have ZLauncher installed.
A few days ago I did a hard reset and renamed my backup.
Then reinstalled the apps I wanted to keep, and did not include any ZLauncher files.
    So it wasn't an uninstall.......
    Suggestions on how to resolve?

Do as Bill suggested. Reinstall it, then go to its preferences and disable it as the default launcher. Then you can uninstall it and you should be good to go.

OK< now this will sound dumb, but better to ask then to f up again and have to ask then.
By "disable" do we mean "exit" Zlauncher?
If not, how does on disable it?
    Thanks
Nevermind, yes it does and now I am fixed.
    Thanks!

I don't use zlauncher, but I found this in another post:

    From inside ZLauncher:

Menu -> Options -> ZL Preferences

Tap the "General" tab and untick the box that says "Default Launcher". Tap "OK". Then from within ZLauncher press Menu + X to exit ZL and you'll be able to delete ZL without any further issues.

I'm not a ZLauncher user myself, but a quick look at the readme file indicates that the ZlauncherManager app may be the route to go:
ZLauncher Manager is a management utility for ZLauncher. It is used to uninstall all or part of
ZLauncher, manage the components of ZLauncher, and restore the system launcher as the default launcher. If ZLauncher crashes with other applications, ZLauncher Manager can be used to help identify the problem. (See ZLauncher User Manual)

    Menu commands of ZL Manager:
o Restore Launcher - Restore the system launcher as the default launcher.
o Remove Preferences - Remove preferences of ZLauncher.
o Uninstall ZLauncher - Uninstall all items of ZLauncher.
