Hi - is there a cable that can do this?

Right now I have a Belkin FM transmitter hanging
off my Treo 650 and it can transmit to the car's
    stereo and over its speakers.

But I think the quality would be heightened with
    a cable interface.

Problem is I don't know where or what to buy to
    do it.

    Thanks for any advice.

You probably have to install a third party head unit (that has aux in) first.

I think gromaudio adapter can do that for you.

Do you have a 2006 Prius with an aux input jack? If so, you should be able to use a standard audio cable and an adapter for the Treo's 2.5mm jack. If you don't have the aux input jack then jbors gromaudio might work but I don't believe it's been tested on a Prius yet.

Some pRius should work. We have not yet confirmed which ones. We plan to do testing in upcoming weeks.

This is more than I'm looking for. I don't care about the non-audio
    part of the Treo.

    Seems that just a 1.5 to 2.5 (or is it a 2.5 to 3.5?) or 2.5 to 2.5?

One of those should work. It is just audio out.

After all, it works to a Belkin FM Transmitter from the Treo using
    just an 1.5/2.5 adapter.

    Am I missing something?

I don't want all the extra cruft.

    Just the audio basic cable.

Then you can get only AUX adapter and connect it to Palm. It won't charge though...

OK, I'm going to assume that you have the aux input jack on your Prius. If that's true, what you need is a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo connector cable. You can get this almost anywhere. This is one example:

You also need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to connect it to the Treo. I guess you must already have something because my Belkin FM transmitter has a 3.5mm plug. Anyway, the following would work.

I will be evaluating the gromaudio adapter. If it works, then it will be possible to control Treo audio playback from the Prius MFD or steering wheel controls which to me is a big plus. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks - this is exactly what I wanted. Went to Radio Shack, got that
3.5mm to 3.5mm dubbing cable for stereo, took it to the Prius, put in
my 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and plugged it in and tried it. Far better
sound quality than the Belkin FM Transmitter.

    Thanks.
