I searched for the following questions but could not find any definitive answers or perhaps I used the wrong search terms.

    Contacts Issues:
Just got a Treo 650, set it up and did a hot sync with MS Outlook on my pc. All contacts in Outlook got downloaded into the Treo without any issues. That's the good part.

    1. Now I decided to do some clean up in Outlook and deleted a bunch of contacts in MS Outlook and then synced with Treo, however the contacts did not get deleted in Treo. What am I doing wrong or not understanding about the sync process?

For example if I delete some contacts in my Treo, when I sync up with Outlook, will the corresponding contacts get deleted also? I have tried that, however that does not work either.

What exactly is the order of deletion here?

    2. I used my SIM car from my previous phone (not a smartphone - a Motorola T720) and I had a bunch of contacts saved on the SIM card. After inserting the SIM card into my Treo, I can now see all the SIM contacts which is great. However, now I cannot edit these contacts anymore on my Treo.
I figured out how to Import them all into the Treo, so I can edit them, however the original ones on the SIM still show and I cannot delete them. I have tried deleting them individually using the menu options, but they are not getting deleted. What am I missing here or doing wrong?

    1. If your Outlook Contacts conduit is set to "Synchronize" (instead of "Handheld overwrites desktop"), then deleting contacts on either platform (as long as it isn't the same contact) will result in the corresponding records on the other platform being removed as well.

    2. Go to Options/Preferences in the Contacts app menu and uncheck "Show SIM Phonebook".
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

What is the "Outlook Contacts conduit"? Is this an option on my Treo? If yes, where is it?

    Thanks! That worked great!

The conduits are on the desktop. Rightclick on the Hotsync Manager icon in the program tray and choose "Custom".

If you do ever need to edit the contacts that are still on your sim card goto "Sim Book" in your launcher and you can change them there.
Make April 15th just another day. Fairtax
