My wife and I both have Treo 650s (the unlocked GSM models), bought only a few months apart.

I can beam events via IR from my Treo to hers without any problem. But when she beams an event to me, my Treo refuses to take it, giving an error message that says "Unknown Data Format."

Yes, my Treo is set to receive da beams via IR in Preferences.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I never saw it until last night because I am the @n@l-retentive/OCD person in the household who enters everything into my calendar, then shoots it over to hers so she's up to speed with what is going on with 3 kids going to soccer, etc. etc. This time she was actually ahead of me and we needed to shoot events the other direction -- at my Treo.

Possible causes: I upgraded both of our Treos to Versamail 3.5 since we use OTA sync to an Exchange Server. What do you think?

Possible diagnostics to try: I'm going to try beaming contact data or something else to see whether this is isolated to events in Calendar or is across the board for all beaming from her Treo to mine.

Hmm. Bluetooth to beam? That's an idea. I think I will RTFM now.

No, I did not see that thread. That gives me a clue as to my problem.

The other clue is that I tried beaming a contact from my wife's Treo to mine. That worked flawlessly.

The third clue I found was that I could not send an event from my wife's Calendar to my Calendar via Bluetooth.

Therefore I (in Sherlock Holmes fashion) deduce that there is something wrong with my wife's Calendar database or my Calendar database. Or preferences related to either or both.

My wife's calendar resides in Outlook on an Exchange Server. Mine does too.

Therefore my plan is to delete the Calendar DB on the Treos then do an OTA sync again to create a new Calendar DB on both Treos, hopefully clean, pure, and fully beam-able.
